I was reading something on facefuck this morning and the poster put a link up for a fashion chain doing women’s clothing for men, the comments of some of the people are absolutely disgusting in this day and age of so called acceptance.

Reading some of the comments, it’s clear they haven’t.

They haven't unfortunately. There is still bigotry going strong. No matter how much awareness they put out there. Makes me sick. Everyone is who they are for their own reason. It's their make up. They can't help who they are. Time people got over that.

I have acquaintances who have told me that they would leave their husband if they discovered he was a cross dresser. Some of them were wearing trousers and shirts during the conversation and couldn't see the irony.

I think society as a whole is more accepting but certain individuals within it less so.

The only bigots are the minority whom seek to force their minority views on everbody else, demonising them and seeking to penalise them...

The majority have a perfect right to consider it wrong and be respected for their right declare it in an appropriate and lawfull manner...

I can understand their reluctance. It can be unnerving to discover that your partner is not the person you thought they were.

There must be many couples who have had to have 'that' talk and then made decisions based on that discussion.

If what another person does in their own time and with their own life does no harm to anyone else, then it is absolutely wrong and bigoted to attack or mock them for it.

Trying to reverse that and make out that it's the people objecting to judgemental dickheads who are in the wrong is pathetic.

(and being in the majority does not make a person automatically morally right. It's sad to have to point this out to an adult.)

You're right Granny. It's sad to have made the decision prior to the discussion though.

Of course everybody has the right to their opinion, however weak and ill thought out that opinion may be.

Everyone also has the right to keep their opinions to themselves.

The OP was about people attacking and mocking others for being 'different'.

That may not have been lawful and was almost certainly not appropriate.

Do we know what fashion chain it was who is catering for men wanting women’s clothes? Be nice to see how they are different compared to the women clothes I have been wearing since 13 and buying since 16

I think the issue is that people don’t tend to declare their opinion ‘appropriately’.

If,as it appears, you are saying that all tvs are cheating on their wives then it is you who is displaying prejudice.

Bigotry is the spirit of the age unfortunately.

Acceptance is denounced as political correctness gone mad.

I saw a picture of this and have to say it looked like a joke. The vast majority of men wouldn't go near that fashion. Fashion designers are just running out of ideas

Sure many years ago in Belfast Transformation I think that was the name opened up a shop for cross dressing .But it was very expensive. And the Catholic church and the DUP stood outside every day till it closed.

Then a shop tried selling skirts for men.some kilts but some nice skirts it was even on TV. It only lasted a few months. After all the jokes that was made on the TV.

Who knew a dress could bring sworn enemies like the Catholics and the Prods together?

I think we sometimes call you hipsters. The Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph inform us you live off your parents wealth and pay £5 for a coffee.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Like ducks, fashioned used to favour men to wear colour and heels. Women had plainer fare.

Why we gender clothes escapes me. Women can wear trousers so why shouldn't men wear a skirt or frock if they want to? It's just clothes.

What is the appropriate manner in which to say cross dressing is wrong?

And what is the reasoning why it is wrong?

In the Republic the Catholic Church don't have that power anymore. Once abortion is passed they will basically be gone from Irish law. They cause enough harm anyway.

I know. It's why I get annoyed with the pink for girls/blue for boys crusaders who claim it's PC gone mad that children's clothes be gender neutral. It's a recent idea that boys wear blue and girls wear pink.

I went to a convent school, so know all about the misery inflicted by the Catholic faith. But happy to say no guilt here or hang ups.

"

up to around the 1930s pink was boys still and before washing machines White cotton dresses up to around 6 where for both sexes.

But the 1960s women rebelled against the normal. And pink started to move from boy to girl.

You realise pink/red was for boys because it was the colour of the army uniform?

In a modern context that's like saying camouflage is for boys.

Look at 'boy' clothes - a fair bit of camouflage in most ranges.
