Any watch experts?

I have a lovely Michael kors watch but the battery ran out so I had it changed.

Now the date doesn't change at midnight and I think it's to do with the top right little dial not being in the right position (seems to be 12 hours behind) I have pressed all the buttons to reset it but can't see how to do it.

Any clues?

Your daughter has a battery?

An off switch too?

i’m sure you could find them in pdf format online, worth a search when you have the spare 5 mins, search for “instructions for (insert watch name here)”

Try pulling the crown out to to the 2nd position and turn it so the hands go around 12 hours if that makes sense.

Make sure the crowns pushed in afterwards.

They’re really easy to do yourself. I do think you can get cheaper ones though, try the jewellery stores

Yeah it sounds like I need to shop around I'm going to try the market first. It's my own fault for buying it her in the first place.

Pop along to your local market, there is usually a watch guy with a stall who will often change a battery for a fraction of the price

I made that mistake once. They’re key cutting shoe repairers that know fuck all about watches. Take it back and get a refund and take it to a proper watch repairer. It might cost an extra fiver but it’s worth it.

Sorry, I know that’s not much help

I've got a black ceramic Accurist, the battery costs £5 and 2 years later it still tells the perfect time

I'm not into watches with loads of buttons and dials on them. Purely functional for me

If its still under guarantee you can take back to where you bought it and they should do it

Well it works and that's all I needed it to do. Nit really sure why I need a refund for that.

Might shop around to get the glass replaced though as that is a repair rather than just a new battery.

I think he means a fake. I bought a fake Rolex in Spain back in the late 80's, it didn't know what British Summer Time was

Why would he ask if its a copy though? Rather an odd and rude assumption.

It isn't a copy. It's legit

If you paid top dollar for it from a reputable dealer, then surely they should be able to sort out the problem?

As for the copy thing, then yes it does come across as a tad on the presumptuous side.

It's not really a problem that needs returning to the dealer though is it? It's been rectified now by winding the clock back 12 hours. If it was an actual fault and it was still in warranty then yes, I'd go back to the vendor or straight to manufacturer.
