Asking out

Hello this is just a curiousity thing after seeing something last week.

At what point after meeting someone did you ask them out or they you, and how did they do it?

I ask because someone I knowasked someone else out quite shortly after meeting them and as far as I could tell it was almost like

“Erm yeah go on then” - they had almost nothing in common or seemed to like each other much.

Maybe it was fear of being alone but It was very half hearted lol

To refine my pet idea some people are like magnets- they immediately have to connect with an opposite or they repell others

True story. The last time I was asked out was in 1974.

Mr N didn't ask me out I just clung on to his ankles until he got fed up of dragging me around

OP, are you talking about asking someone to go out on a date? Because that can happen very quickly. But your phrasing makes it all sound like young teenagers ‘going out’ with each other, classing themselves as ‘going out’ while never doing anything.

hiding from cock pics.

I have had people walk up to me and their opening line, the first thing they have ever said to me, is asking me if I'd like to go for a drink or a meal.

There's no time that is too soon, if you look at someone and feel you'd like to get to know them better, ask them out.

The worst they can say is no.now

I got asked out a couple of weeks ago by a taxi driver I had booked. He just asked if I was single and could he take me out to dinner sometime. Given the fact I had my two year old with me and I was a customer I wasn't impressed. I think if you are on a night out and get chatting, quite soon is fine.

In the case in question they’re young adults- i was just surprised at how they went out ( not dating like teenagers) so half heartedly- it’s difficult to explain in text.

“I’d like to take you out to dinner. I mean, I won’t come in to the restaurant, or eat with you, or pay, but I’d like to take you there. In the back of my car. For money.”

Perhaps that's what he meant...
