So who has been changed by love, and how did it change you??

I have.

Meeting and falling in love with someone who truly loves me back for exactly who I am has been life changing.

Just accepts me as I am, and supports me in all I do, my confidence has grown massively because of that! He has shown me happiness I never thought I'd feel, not everyday but for the most part. I'm a lucky girl

Made me realise that just because you may love someone they can be bad for you.

Made me open to loving again but weary and my walls are high as far as giving second chances. I ain't got the time or strength to go through bullshit. I'd rather not bother.

I love seeing others in love.

The reason why I said love blinded me is because a couple of years ago, I was in a relationship with my former best friend who lived in Blackpool.

It looked like a perfectly normal relationship but during that time, she had me brainwashed into thinking that my family (mum, dad and brother) had me trapped and wanted me to leave home, quit my job and move to Blackpool to live with her and her mum and start a family. I was afraid that if I had said no, she would have dumped me there and then.

It nearly tore my family apart at Christmas as it led to an argument. After a chat with her on the phone about it, she sent me a text saying it was over and didn't want to go back to being friends. It broke my heart very badly that Christmas.

Since then, I had focused on myself by making new friends who have helped me regain my confidence and I am so grateful of them as if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here.

I fell in love once, it nearly destroyed me.

I'm grateful for the lesson though.

I'm the person I am today because if it.

I survived, I rebuilt my life.

I'm a better stronger person for it, and I know nothing will ever break me again.

"So who has been changed by love, and how did it change you?? "

Love makes you vulnerable. You open up a part of you that you wouldn't to other people. That means when things are good is fantastic and when it's bad it feels like shit because it's a rejection of who you are. I love being in love. Hate when the person I love hurts me. Your have to risk the lows to get the awesome highs though.

The one that got me the worst though was becoming a parent. All of a sudden I had someone in my life who if they were hurt or worse would cause me as much pain or more psychologically than if it happened to me. That was a mind fuck for me.

Worth it though.

Yes, it's definitely changed me. I'm a lot softer and more open and a lot less likely to feel guilty for being me.

Do you love me or love the idea of me?

I think love doesn't really exist per se.

As most descriptions above shown that it is more abt how the other person makes them feel.

Dunno. We've been rubbing along together for 37 odd years, both of us have changed in certain respects how much of that it down to love is debatable. I think if love changes your basic personality theres something not quite wholesome about that love.

It’s scary, with the wrong person it can be manipulated and used against you. It can break you and leave you doubting it’s worth. But with the right person it’s the best thing ever, suddenly the world seems brighter and life much happier. Still a scary thing but slowly being shown that not everyone is out to hurt me x

Can love put personality traits into a person that weren't there before or bring out latent ones?

Yes, I agree suppressed traits are latent, which nonetheless maybe have never been seen or known of, so there is a transformation - you just become more you!

Loving a toxic man destroyed me. I lost myself. For two years I became unrecognisable and fought so hard just to survive.

But love wasn't responsible for that. He was!

If I could find such comfort in loving the wrong man... I look forward to the day I find the right one who takes that love, treasures it, and returns it.

Good question. It initially blinded me, having lived through a relationship where adolescent love dictated my actions. I now understand and appreciate it so much more. It’s about being, believing and becoming. It gives you strength, focus and belief that anything is possible. We’re not together today but that gift remains and I’m thankful for receiving and giving it!

Even though love in a relationship blinded me, the love from all the friends I've made here on fab has made me a better, happier and more confident person that I am today. It has made me explore and gain new experiences which I am glad to have experienced.

I once again am grateful for everything they have done to help me get back on my feet and get out of a very dark place which probably would have taken my life.
