Not looking to turn this into a Moany post.

I'm not asian but mixed English, indian.

Why do asian guys get frowned upon on here? I see so many profiles specifically blocking out asian guys.

You’ll get the answer it’s solely preference. People don’t often like to look more closely at how preferences are formed though, as people think it means they’re being accused of being something bad so it prevents us talking about entrenched social influences that help form unconscious preferences.

Asian men have a bad reputation with some people for being pushy and disrespectful towards women. Could be that.

Unfortunately yes it does mean they get thrown into the same category. There's hundreds/ thousands of men on here and people will often group them together to make it easier to reject loads in one go.

However some will treat you as a person and not as a group.

You know that , but many of us would have no idea . We see Pakistani , Indian , and Asian as one . Wrong , yes , but nevertheless that’s the way it is .

So is the colour of ones skin the determining factor ?

Yes it is for those who specify white only , or black only , or no Asians .

And some say it’s not racist , well that’s a matter of opinion .

We have enjoyed meets with every race equally , and have no preference or deference to what colour skin people have . Nor their religious belief , nor what newspaper they read , or political persuasion they have .

It's something we just have to accept. Probability says you're gonna meet somebody if you keep at it, so just take it on the chin until you do find that special somebody to kick-start your swinging life!

Asian refers to all from the continent of Asia. Last I checked, which admittedly was probably a very long time ago, India was part of the continent of Asia, along with Pakistan and Bangladesh and Vietnam and Cambodia and probably many other smaller countries.

Being partially, not having any contact with, Indian does sadly mean those specifying no Asians may not be interested in you. There choice. Do you want such people to show you interest? I wouldn't. Id prefer to meet people who take each and every individual on their own merit.

Can't say I've ever seen that, but fair enough if you have. Only 3 labels I've seen people use on here is white, black and Asian. I do kind of understand the mixed confusion though, but then if people rule me out based on anything other than my attractiveness or personality they're just no my kind of people.

People will have different reasons for that preference. Ruling out a whole race/nation seems odd to me anyway because every race/nation has beautiful people.

Why do people focus their attention on those not seeking them? This site caters for all because guess what? We don't have universal appeal.

For every "no asians/blacks" there are dozens with no preference. This is not a place of work or the United Nations. Sexual attraction is personal. You may have close friends you love dearly but don't want to shag. I have short and fat male friends: really close friends but I don't find them sexually attractive.

Of course, as everywhere, there are ist/isms. However, when it comes to who you allow into your body people should be able to say "no thanks" without people getting ball ache for being excluded!

I’m sorry that’s not true. India and Pakistan are both in Asia. If you are implying that people can’t tell the different between Indians and Pakistanis then that is different. Many other countries are also part of Asia such as Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, etc

Personally my experience is that some men from other ethnicities have no foreplay skills and it’s all about their own pleasure.

I know. But that's just what Pakistanis are labelled as. Whereas indian, Chinese and others are labelled as their race. "

I think you are making an issue where there isn’t one.

For every "no asians/blacks" there are dozens with no preference. This is not a place of work or the United Nations. Sexual attraction is personal. You may have close friends you love dearly but don't want to shag. I have short and fat male friends: really close friends but I don't find them sexually attractive.

I agree with that fully. But it still comes down to the fact that brown does not mean Pakistani and not all brown guys treat women like shit. This happens in every race but brown guys tend to be pointed out the most.

I have on the odd the occasion been mistaken for being part Asian, even though the only Asian origins in my family is Chinese on my dad's side and the last of that was his great great nan.

I'm really not. All my life I've had people say asian implying Pakistani. I only got called out on it when I started uni and my southern roommate said that they are Pakistani and asian mean anything but inda ans Pakistan.

For us, race, religion and skin colour plays no part in why we find people attractive.

Unfortunately there are some Asian (Indian & Pakistani) guys who treat ladies in a really derogatory way and some people choose to discount the whole group rather than take a risk.

Ultimately though there is no point worrying about things that you can't change. If people don't find you attractive then you'll never persuaded then that they should.

If I was you though, I wouldn't make any refferences to your race and let people judge you as they see you.

"If you are English Indian aren't you also English Asian?

Not at all. Indian and asian are completely different.

In reality it is racial prejudice.

It makes sense to me why this site is almost purely black and white. Brown doesn't mean Pakistani. Personally I've never got along with them because they the ones I've met are creeps, have no respect for women and are just overall dicks.

Moaning about racial prejudice while displaying racial prejudice

Hardly being prejudice. I'm just giving my personal perception of them from my experience. "

That's racial prejudice because your rating a whole race based on a limited experience of those you have met ?

It’s purely choice. Simple as that. I am a asian Guy and when reading a profile and see no Asians. I accept that. But don’t take it personal. I find interacting with people with respect and dignity goes a long way.

These kind of threads tend to go along the same track.

People all have their own preferences on who they want to socialise and play with.

There are many reasons for this. We came across a profile of a very sexy looking couple that tick are boxes if you like. They don't meet anyone over 40. We don't wine about it and we respect their preferences.

We look for like minded people that we get on with. we have a preference for bigger girls but we give everyone a chance if they are nice respectful and we like the look of thrm.

In the long run those people whom we like you will chat to you those that done will not.

I remember that thread. I saw a few people trying to discuss what I talk about in my first response at the top of this thread, and people shutting down a more nuanced conversation (within which not a single person trying to discuss the point, was ever suggesting that people don’t have the right to choose who to sleep with, but that there is more of a conversation intellectually to understand how preference is formed).

It’s really an interesting conversation but people aren’t willing to have it if it means really shining a light on themselves and their subconscious.

.

I agree Personal preferences are deep rooted and built from experiences from the past.

There was a really interested study around subconscious prejudices and partner preferences.

They found that negative experiences from childhood can shape who we are attracted to.

It could be that someone was bullied by a certain type of person. During the years going forward may exclude people who fit this type of person as friends or relationships.

Does this the make the person a ism or ist.

In the long run be it right or wrong every one of us has prejudices normal built on personal experiences or learnt behaviour.

Prejudice is an affective feeling towards a person or group member based solely on that person's group membership. (This is exactly what your opinion did)

The word is often used to refer to preconceived, usually unfavorable, feelings towards people or a person because of their sex, gender, beliefs, values, social class, age, disability, religion, sexuality, race/ethnicity, language, nationality, beauty, occupation, education, criminality, sport team affiliation or other personal characteristics. In this case, it refers to a positive or negative evaluation of another person based on that person's perceived group membership.

It could be that someone was bullied by a certain type of person. During the years going forward may exclude people who fit this type of person as friends or relationships.

Does this the make the person a ism or ist.

In the long run be it right or wrong every one of us has prejudices normal built on personal experiences or learnt behaviour.

Actually not just individual experiences but social constructs have a much more insidious and unconscious affect.

Makes sense as I have always been around white people as friends and I'm mainly attracted to white women.

Not quite what I mean. And you appear to be using my point (as you interpret it) in the response before this post re individual experience as an excuse and therefore it being okay to act on your prejudice - that’s not my point at all!)"

I am not prejudice. I will happily talk to a Pakistani guy, but its just my experience that the ones I meet are dicks. Not saying all are but the minority ruin it for the majority. But I feel the real unconscious prejudice comes from terrorism.

"If you are English Indian aren't you also English Asian?

Not at all. Indian and asian are completely different.

In reality it is racial prejudice.

It makes sense to me why this site is almost purely black and white. Brown doesn't mean Pakistani. Personally I've never got along with them because they the ones I've met are creeps, have no respect for women and are just overall dicks.

Moaning about racial prejudice while displaying racial prejudice "

"Why do people focus their attention on those not seeking them? This site caters for all because guess what? We don't have universal appeal.

For every "no asians/blacks" there are dozens with no preference. This is not a place of work or the United Nations. Sexual attraction is personal. You may have close friends you love dearly but don't want to shag. I have short and fat male friends: really close friends but I don't find them sexually attractive.

Of course, as everywhere, there are ist/isms. However, when it comes to who you allow into your body people should be able to say "no thanks" without people getting ball ache for being excluded!

I asked this kind of question in a thread once. I gave a few examples of sexual preferences that some people aren't attracted to but everyone just jumped on the 'black' example saying I was racist.

You’re conflating the words prejudice and discrimination. We all have prejudices. It simply means to pre-judge. Discrimination is the action based on prejudice.

Is this going to be the new Godwin's law. "If you don't get the answer you want play the terrorism card"

We have a number of friends that don't play with Asian guys. We were discussing this not long ago as I was interested in why.

Most of them had negative experiences in clubs etc so have decided its not for them

Also.a number of them don't play with single men for the same reason.

Who mentioned discrimination? That is where the original prejudice comes from. As the typical terrorist is browns so the prejudice translates into nit picking at the majority from a few guys acting like dicks and mistreatment of women.

But in a black or white race they aren't picked as much because the image is already there about brown.

The Town by The Cross

If I take a dislike to anyone, it's their personality , behaviour, expectations and not their skin colour.

Culture play a large part in all of those. To reject a person because of their cultural behaviours and beliefs regarding women isn't racist.

Someone I see regularly is from the very heart of Asia. I rarely consider his heritage tho.... his behaviours are akin to mine. So all is good.

Interestingly I have thoughts re the social construct that leads us to fat shaming too.

At no point do I think that people have to sleep with anyone they don’t want to - but can we all start to look a little closer at how “sexual preferences” are formed?

Agreed there are those that are racist.

Stuff I learnt from this thread:

1) Everyone has preferences

2) Some people (unfortunately) racially stereotype

3) You should move on if people don't like you

4) India is part of Asia

(I already knew the last one, I'm just making sure others know too)

I'm not surprised!

Some will automatically assume race if they're excluded and cry racism whèn there is none.

People are way too shy to call out anyone. This world is getting to scared of hurting feelings.

What's there to call out. People can choice who they have consensual fun with and who they don't want to.

Damn I would be crying on my pasty if I was upset everytime someone says sorry we don't do fat people.

Interestingly I have thoughts re the social construct that leads us to fat shaming too.

At no point do I think that people have to sleep with anyone they don’t want to - but can we all start to look a little closer at how “sexual preferences” are formed? "

Now that is a conversation I would love to have with you.

It might be time to post a thread with something I read recently that I think will cause debate...

Slough Windsor ish

"Asian refers to all from the continent of Asia.

So you'd meet someone who says no blacks or asian? "

No we wouldn't knowingly but then we tend only to meet at clubs and rarely feel the need to check peoples fab profiles before chatting.

If a couple or single contacts us and their profile says "No blacks or Asians" we are highly unlikely to meet them simply because we prefer open minded individuals as playmates.
