Taxed my car to start today, ive had all the dd mandate through an emailed to me but the websites still saying its sorn am i legal 2 drive it?

Ok thanks was confused as it says in the dd mandate that i dont have to wait for the first collection of money to drive it could it be due to the bank holiday?

When I bought a new car before Christmas the garage taxed it before I left so I could legally drive home. I made a payment the same the day, and the DD started the following month.

If you have an email saying it’s taxed, then you are fine to drive.

The website won’t update instantly.

they wouldn't give me the keys to my car unless I sorted insurance tax etc

My tax was due today, i had an email saying itll be taxed from midnight but the money wont come out until the 5th. Website does say its taxed though. So i would say the website should of changed if you are

I would say that you are ok to drive. Print out the email to take with you in case you get stopped. You might want to phone the non-emergency number for advice.

It could be a delay in the website updating due to the bank holiday - non-emergency government workers don't work bank holidays.

Is the dd a rollover from last years tax, or did you have to fill in your details again? If so, when did you put your details in?

That's why the website is already updated. For the OP who has done it today, there possibly isn't anyone in the office to change their status on the database.
