The land of grey peas and bacon

So I've always wanted children and unfortunately it hasn't happened yet! The lack of sperm doesn't help but that's a different matter! However I'm sick and tired of people saying on I bet you are glad you don't have kids or don't have kids they do my head in...I actually am at the stage where I roll my eyes..sorry I know it's a rant but it's just getting to me at the moment..

They don't see the other side at 38 having your biological clock going off like a fucking alarm at 38 or waking up in the night crying because it's on your brain constantly...I'm sorry for airing it here just need to get it off my chest

They are a blessing, not all of us are blessed with them naturally, some find other methods to be blessed, some never have them and they consider themselves blessed. Whatever way around it goes, make your own choices and take no notice of what anyone says. People make off the cuff remakes all time, they probably don’t even realise this is causing you offence OP x

People can lack sensitivity, they don’t think. They put pressure on people who don’t want kids, they hurt people who do want kids but can’t, for whatever reason.

Personally, I avoid asking people about wanting kids unless they bring it up. My colleague speaks to me about trying with her partner. For a long time, she wanted to try and he was putting it off. Every time someone asked her, it was like tearing the scab off.

I lost 2 babies and then had a hysterectomy... Life is harsh sometimes and then you get the ignoramuses who mock about that fact...

I've gotten hard about the subject now but believe me it has caused much pain and heartache over the years so I empathise fully even tho it will never ever happen to me now...

I really feel for you lovely. Just remember that there is still time. Where there is time, there is hope. I had my first at 22. I didn't think I'd have any more, then surprise, I had my second at 38. My grandmother was 43 having her youngest. Sometimes it's good to get it out, if it's constantly playing on your mind. Just keep in mind you do still have time. Sending cwtches

You're far from to old at 38, friend of mine had her first at 41 , 6 months ago , as for the gobshites making comments, just take them for what they are , simpletons , with opinions on everything, so they might as well have ill informed opinions on this just as they do on most other matters

I'm in a similar boat but i carnt seem to find a nice ladey to have any with.

People don’t think when they mention kids and have no concept of how hurtful it is when you want but don’t have. I was 35 (my Fab age is wrong, long story!) when I had my wee one, after a number of years of trying, and requiring some assistance due to issues with infertility. The majority of my friends with children the same age, are either a similar age or older than me.

38 isn’t old these days, your time will come. One pal was 43 when she had her first and another had twins at 44! Xx

Had my kid at 29. So I have no regrets n sorry you don't have any but never say never I've know women in their 50s to gave a first child..

Personally mine us now a teenager I'm looking firearms to more free time but I'd never say no to another if it happened.

Our futures are never set in stone. X

Her here, I rarely post on here and leave it to Him, but this post hits close to home.

I know exactly how you feel, for our first baby, it took 5 years and 2 miscarriages at the age of 23. We married and the next thing everyone asks is when are you having a baby, . All the while people around me moaned about the burden of having kids and it hurt. At one point I knew 11 pregnant people, whilst we we're struggling.

Anyway, long story short, due to polycystic ovaries and 3 years of fertility drugs, we were at the point of signing up for IVF and waiting for the approval when I fell pregnant.

It's an awful time, although I now have 2 kids, I'll never forget that shitty feeling,

Just tell them when you last had sex and that you don't think you can get pregnant from swallowing ??

I believe that no man can truly understand how you feel and how powerful that clock is.

I had a little insight a while back with a girlfriend, she was 34 and desperate for a child

I was in no position to provide. We split up but met again two years later and over dinner with tears flowing she described her anguish, I’ve never been so moved by a conversation, I was in tears also. Another two years on, she was in love but had just had a miscarriage. I then lost all contact. I just hope she now has what she wanted so much. I still love and miss her.

I had mine at 35 and 38.

A work colleague had twins (unplanned) at 44 after meeting a man who swept her off her feet.

You never know what is around the corner or who.

The gift of motherhood is not easy for some,I couldn't have my own inspite of countless ivf treatments. Our last try was a huge scream out for me to stop in no uncertain terms,I eventually had a positive result to be told two weeks later there was nothing in the sack. Got the message loud and clear,it wasn't going to happen.

Adoption was our route. I so hope you get your dream,I know the devastation of not being a mum it tore my whole being apart.

It's just the way it is at time's for some people isn't it. We don't choose to have children,we may choose when to have them,but it's part of our make up and when you can't do something that nature dictates you should be doing it's incredibly hard to cope with.

But you do have time one way or another,whether you find your baby first or the father first is another matter. I would say try every possible way to have your own child first rather than my route x

I wouldn't be able to adopt due to circumstances so it's one way for me but I know what you are saying xx
