Is it poor grammar, laziness or derogatory when women are referred to as 'females'?

Example..."I'm looking for females", "Females don't like married men" or "Where's the females at?"

Female what? Budgerigars?

I'm a woman. Thanks.

I don’t think it’s necessarily any of those derogatory things, it’s just how some people write stuff.

You’ve probably read enough profiles by now to know that people don’t always come across well when they write, this is maybe just another example of it.

Signed,

A Male

Lass or girl sounds young, whereas woman sounds grown up. As your young yourself girl or lass is acceptable, but from an older bloke it's more pervy xx

I don't think there'd be many on here looking for female budgerigars, I feel it might be a niche fetish

Lass sounds northern and girl more generic. Both to me suggest someone in their teens

Not always. Sometimes guys don't know what suffix to use due to conflicting preferences.

Example: Girls - Too infantile

I guess saying female covers the majority of the opposite sex. I've seen people moan about being called anything really, whether it's girl, woman, lady, Lass, slut, whore etc. Some men probably think saying "female" covers all those labels.

The OP asked if it was bad grammar, well that is.

It should be either, more deadly or just deadlier
