"How do you deal with feeling angry? How do you get it out of your system? Slamming doors or smashing things might feel good but it doesn't seem to help. Do you have any anger management tips? " If it is someone who has pissed you off, my favoured action is a sweet smile and scheming eyes. It will drive them nuts wondering what you are plotting!

"At my work, there's a long corridor leading from the restaurant to the kitchen which is pretty soundproof... therefore I rant quietly in the kitchen (with lots of swears) count to ten then face the guests again. " I sometimes scream in the car, that feels good! I'm not actually in a bad mood right now, it's just a question I was talking about today. Trying to give teenagers an outlet for their hormonal anger.

"Emotional reactions are created in our subconscious they are not based on reality or even facts merely our own personal.interpretations of events based on our past experiences and triggered. Anger and unmet expectations go hand in hand. There are many 3rd wave therapies to help you understand your triggers and how to combat them.. The brain is an immensely powerful tool / machine it can be re programmed... I am not asking you to imagine that you can remain calm..Merely to suspend the idea that you can not xx " Welcome eloquence and very interesting.

"In the past I've screamed. Used to do this in a previous job. Go to the loos and scream like a banshee. Definitely helped as a release of tension. Not always possible but I try to deal with situations that are pissing me off before I get to yo angry stage and this is actually more manageable than you may think. I think a lot of day to day anger comes from lack of communication and people feeling taken for granted. If you're not happy with a situation say so, if someone is pissing you off then tell them. If you don't want to do something, then don't. It sounds very simple but as someone who used to (sometimes still does) run around like a blue arsed fly after others, there is an immense feeling of relief and empowerment from simply saying "No". It means I'm less likely to feel resentful and angry towards others and, more importantly, less angry with myself. Wee mindfulness apps like Headspace are good too. And massage and other relaxation therapies. Oh,and wine helps too." what does your wife do to calm?

" I bought one of those blow up figures that you punch for one hormonal teenager. It's so silly that seeing me demonstrating hitting it changed anger to laughter. It wasn't needed for long and now we talk about what is making them angry.

"If it is someone who has pissed you off, my favoured action is a sweet smile and scheming eyes. It will drive them nuts wondering what you are plotting! " I prefer to tell the person why I’m not happy with them, and then resolve it. Scheming eyes are for soap operas and teenagers.

" Pause Pause a little more. Reflect Why are you angry? Seek a space where you don't have to speak, or type, or perform Reflect Check out whether your anger is valid, or just an emotional reaction Then get even, with extreme prejudice, if required. Or apologize. Both outcomes are equally likely. Carter

By the way high blood pressure causes anger, not the other way round. Get your BP down before it kills you.

"Lay down, take a deep breath in through your nose. Hold it untill you feel your chest hurting! Then SLOWY breath out through your mouth! Concentrate on the feeling of the relief of the stress leaving your body as you breath out! Then lay still a little longer as you rerun to gentle breathing again. After trying this a few times you should find that each time you encounter a stressfull situation you will subconsciously hold your breath and breath out taking the stress with it! It does work! " That sounds helpful. Might work for stress too.
