I’ve heard of and listened to most of the bands mentioned here and yes there are a hell of a lot of underrated bands/artists! But I feel for the acts that never really become known! I’ve seen some incredible bands and artists play to just a hand full of people in small venues up and down the country! I’d recommend anyone who likes live music to go see the small gigs, have a drink with them afterwards and buy some merchandise! If they’re lucky they might break even on the petrol money! 3

I second that. There must be a terrific music scene in Cambridge. However, other than the odd trip to the Corn Exchange I’ve never gone to find.

It's been an open secret in the touring world for a while. The Edge isn't that great a guitarist hence the massive bank of effects and the additional guitarists. U2 got big because they played up their Irish roots in the USA. Let's be honest, they haven't made a halfway decent album since Actung Baby

I could write a list as long as both my arms on this.

Woods of ypres were definitely one of the most underrated Canadian metal bands, and it's a shame David gold died.

Anything Devin Townsend has done flies way too far under the radar for my liking.

Liabach should be where Rammstein are, and aren't as big simply because they're not stupid enough to set themselves on fire every show.

Mad season should have been way better knows, considering they were a supergroup of amazing grunge bands.

Agalloch are a fantastic blackened folk metal album who really put their all into their live shows

Pallbearer are making waves slowly, but they should be bigger than what they are. Their cover of type o negatives love you to death is on point, to

I’d heard of them before and saw them for the first time last year - brilliant live. But even after that, I haven’t bought, or deliberately listened to, any of their material.

It is that sort of “disconnect” that stops great live bands becoming great bands. To me and possibly others, the songs just aren’t quite strong enough on their own.

Skillet. An American rock band who have a British born female drummer. Mostly overlooked as they get labelled 'Christian rock' but it's not all preachy etc.

They have an amazing sound and the drummer 'Jen ledger' has a habit of hitting the cymbal so hard it inverts.

Some of our favourites of theirs being 'circus for a psycho' 'monster' 'awake and alive'.
