Do people like it or just do it because it's convenient? I personally think that the old way was better. This new way of online dating is just too digital.. thoughts?

The future of online dating will be VR where people have lifelong relationships without ever meeting in person

Theres nothing quite like seeing someone you like in the flesh and trying to catch their eye and get to know them. Hard to get that belly flutter from just online pics and words.

It’s become gradually worse in the seven years I’ve been single and using such sites.

Dating online has become almost gamified... especially the swiping style sites. You get a match with someone and the first option is to keep ‘playing’ and look for someone better.

We’re doomed

Much prefer the old-fashioned way, meeting through a shared interest or mutual friends, or just sheer chance - seems to be increasingly difficult these days though hence the popularity of the Internet

I met my ex husband of 10 years that way in 2005 and the guy I was with for a couple of years before that online. It was very different back then. Less choice.
