When people make the initial contact.....

Say Hi....

U respond happily making conversation (asking questions etc) numerous times after they replied with Yes/No answers.

Then they get a huff because you go cold....

They've made very little effort!!

FFS!!!! Make an effort or it will fizzle out very quickly!!

Yes I'm one that asks questions but that because of both my age and circumstances. I prefer to know if the person I would like to chat with is ok with it

Not on about a convo fizzling out...more as the op said at the beginning...when sending a long message and getting yes or near replies...only send one then move on with a head shake

People are just different, with expectations and needs that differ - where it's obvious, it becomes an easy way to filter.

Some people get the huff when I'm slower than they'd like, not replying within x timeframe etc. My life is different.

Our face pics are private and yes they did send a FR within a few messages in! They didn't get much more tho, from us or anyone - they're boring f**kers

It's annoying.

I don't think a lot of people understand the difference between an open response and a closed response.

An open response: Is a response that gives the other person an opening to reply to you, ie. "I'm fine thanks, and how are you?"

A closed response: Is a response that gives the person no opening and they have to work to create another element to the conversation. ie. "I'm good".

I did leave it open with questions though - then when I left it closed they responded??
