Dangerous world?

With continual war in Syria and the Middle East, tensions between North Korea and USA

Now Britain and Russia

Are at serious loggerheads!

Is the world as we know it spiralling out of control?

Is it time we sorted all our political and religious divide to bring a new age of peace?

Or are humans impossible of living in peace with each other?

Nope, just business as usual. It's being going on for hundreds of years. It's just the technology that changes.

Your last sentence is correct though.

There is a theory that we evolved to be generous and inclusive. When we were hunter gatherers it made sense to share a big kill with your neighbours. You had no means of storing it so it was no good to you after a short while anyway and your neighbours would return the favour meaning there was less liklihood of going without food for long periods. Then farming came along and we needed to protect our land and animals so became war like. There are flaws in this argument, but aren't there always.

I think if you just take a look at the forums you can see that we aren’t destined to ever get on with each other!

Shame really. Sex is much better than fighting

The more it changes the more it stays the same..

It was ever thus and the only new thing about or ceaseless desire for mutual destruction seems to the effectiveness of the weapons employed....

Yep the concept of individual property, be it land, wealth, possessions (human or otherwise) is what causes humans to fight each other. If you have nothing to gain or lose you have nothing to fight for.

Do forget the sleeping Dragon China. A massive ramp up in military spending or successive years. Massive improvement in equipment and capability. A move to procuring equipment and training suited to sustaining opperations far outside of its boarders rather than it previous homeland defence posturing. What is China's intention with this shift in spending, equipment and capability?

Having spent 16 years dealing in China you have nothing to fear from these people. They are really nice, yes still a sort of communism in place, but their country has changed so much in 16 years
