Inhale steam with a little tea tree oil in it or burn a little oil in an oil burner. Sleep with a cotton wool pad with a drop of tea tree on it in your pillow case.

Whatever you do don't be tempted by stuff that you spray up you'd nose or those tablets that claim to clear your nose or sinus. In our experience they either damage your nose or don't work.

Slough Windsor ish

Steam inhalation, Vicks vapor rub, avoid dairy for a fewdays as this doesnt help with mucus build up.

Ive been left with a hideous cough... it hurts so much i feel like im coughing my eyeballs out of my head

Hope you feel better soon x

Get some olbas oil, put some on a hanky and waft it under your nose. Put some on your pillow too. Rub Vicks on your chest. Prop your pillows up a bit more at bedtime.

Put some Vaseline around your nose for the soreness too.

I'd go to the chemist and see if they can give you a nasal spray to help shift it.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Cutting out dairy helps a lot.

My nose runs when I'm turned on, whether I have a cold or not. Have you been permanently turned on since the lurgy?

Steam inhalation; two pints of boiling water into a bowl; head over bowl and large towel over head and bowl.

Breathe in and out through the nose for 5 minutes; doing this effectively will be uncomfortable as it gets very hot.

Add menthol etc. to the water if you wish.

Then lie on your back, on your bed, with your head hanging over the edge for 10 minutes.

You have to invert the maxillary sinus as the drainage 'hole' is at the top of the sinus (google maxillary sinus, as an image, to see this).

Repeat as often as possible.

Don't sniff; this encourages more mucus to be 'sucked' into the sinuses.

Don't use any sort of decongestant.

Do drink plenty of fluids.

Post a big 'thank you' when you discover that this, actually, works.

You're welcome.
