Time to delete the 'sexuality' tick box?

The 'Looking for' list says who the person is looking to meet. I think it's time to delete the 'sexuality' tick box as it just causes issues.

For example bi men that want to meet men but are concerned about being outed as bi, so they have to state they are straight. If there was no sexuality tick box this wouldn't be an issue.

What do you think?

Wouldn't it lead to just a load of messages asking your sexuality. Yes, people could put it on their profile, but if men don't want to admit they're bi it's unlikely they'd put it in writing on their profile. So if people don't put "I'm 100% straight" it'd be presumed they're bi.

This sounds a good idea, if it helps people to gain more of the satisfaction that they need from the site.

I agree. . . whilst I'm not full-on bi-sexual if I'm with a couple and events turn (is it MFM or MMF, I can never remember??) playfully bi, as long as its while the three of us are all involved, then I'm quite happy to go with the flow. . . but there isn't a tick box that encompasses all of that though is there!!

Also, not that I bother contacting couples that often (as the majority are such a royal pain in the ass!!) why do they feel the need to be so black or white about the bi question...? just state your preference from early in the conversation and then everyone knows how to play it - surely that's what adults do!!

Well the only people who would benefit would be the bi guys who claim they’re straight . So by eliminating the sexuality box we cater to the dishonest amongst us . And based on the past few days of posts suggesting that dishonesty and / or integrity is perfectly acceptable on here , I think it may as well be dropped .

The new staple message would become: "U bi? Faf?"

What will happen to all the bigoted forum posts declaring others sexuality for them? What will all the people that are homophobic... Sorry I mean "have a preference" to avoid bi men do?

I demand that we pigeon hole everyone into three categories and make them declare it! Black and white rules, should they step outside these they should be persecuted for being a evil liar!

Can we make people wear badges in public too please.

There and to the left a bit

Disagree completely - the ONLY people that seem to be affected by the sexuality box are the "Fab straight" guys who delude themselves that by ticking straight and not bi they're increasing their chances of meeting the minority of women/couples that won't meet bi men.

Keeping it there serves two purposes as far as I'm concerned:

- Allows searches for genuinely and open people whose sexuality matches what you're looking for

- Allows you to filter out those who have lied on their profile.

If they were to change anything I'd suggest adding "bi playful" as a category but think even that's too much when someone can tick bi-curious or bisexual and then qualify it in their profile text if they choose to.

Well people ignore age ranges and profile text anyway. And straight men say they get messages from gay/ bi men so good point.

I don't think it's an issue. You could ask the question on any of the tick box sort of questions.

And I understand the original post as there are alot of men on here that put straight when they are bi. But I think that's more to do with alot of people on here will not meet bi guys so they hide it.

For me I am proud of my sexuality so happily display it

I don't think removing this box would be beneficial to anyone really, maybe another option of "rather not say" may be more use to those too shy to disclose their tendencies?

Why not just remove all the boxes to keep you people happy.

'Rather not say' is used on other sites. Probably raises more questions though.

Bi men should be able to block straight men and vice versa.

That would be a useful block.
