Hi all, wasn't sure if I should post this on one of the other message boards.

Long story short, I've come into a wee bit of money (we aren't talking squillions) from the sale of a house I had with my ex. After 6 years of being careful and never really having a super holiday abroad I thought it time to treat myself but lo and behold I'm single!!

I don't want to go away by myself and don't fancy trawling around pof to get "in a relationship" just to go on holiday with someone

What would your advice be on maybe finding someone on here for a week away? It doesn't actually have to be sexual, as long as we got on so a week in the sun is fun rather than stressful! Of course if anything did happen then brill but that's not my complete goal

I haven't booked anything yet as want to keep it flexible but to be brutally honest a room for 2 isn't much more than a room for one, so whoever comes could have their travel and accommodation paid for so they only need spending money

Just figured it's time for a treat!

It doesn't have to be sexual but if that happened then great. To be honest my mates would either want a piss up for a week or wouldn't be allowed to come! I'm thinking more of a couples holiday

Have you thought about the likelihood that halfway through the holiday you will find out you irritate the sh*t out of each other. Sharing a room and an 'artificial' relationship for a week rarely ends well.

Your best bet would be to find a regular nsa partner or 2 and mention it to them?

I'd go on holiday with one if my fbs but only because I know and trust them, I don't know about other women but I would never ever go on holiday with a complete stranger regardless if they were paying or not.

Agree! Would never skip off to a foreign country with a stranger! Or anywhere in the Uk for that matter

I came into a bit of money 2 years ago...

Totally unexpected...

Bought a Brand New Car,

And then drove it across Europe a few times...

Never asked any friends, as I knew if I did, it would give me an excuse not to go...

i.e. “I never went in the end, ‘cause no one wanted to go with me”

I just booked the ferry, and left 2 days later

I knew I would talk myself out if it if I didn’t just go for it... and I actually made loads of friends out there, on both trips...

Trip #1

Ferry from Hull to Rotterdam - Amsterdam - Antwerp - Home via Channel Tunnel

Trip #2

Channel Tunnel to Ghent - Brussels - Cologne - Hannover - Berlin - Hamburg - Antwerp - Home via Channel Tunnel

Well worth it, great adventure

- Planned nothing (except meeting a friend in Berlin for a few days on my second trip)

- Booked nothing (except last minute hotels via booking.com)

- Did minimal research

My advice...

If no one wants to go... go on your own.

Trust me... you’ll love it

I rarely have anyone to go away with so go on my own. It's much better than being on best behaviour for a total stranger

I agree with all the comments above . I looked at going abroad alone. An I can’t even goto a bar alone. I found some nice fitness boot camps in Ibiza. If I’m busy doing something time flys. An it’s shared rooms like dorms. Not everyone s cup of tea.

Just saying there’s more out there than your standard beach holiday

A female that you don't know well who puts herself in a hotel room with a man a very long way from home is vulnerable and at risk. It is a potentially highly dangerous position to be in op. The fact that a man would have paid for her holiday also adds unspoken pressure.

Fab often has such free holiday offers.

Have sex anywhere. Get a fb and travel or date and then travel. Or if it's companionship, arrange a holiday with any gender that you know and go and find your sex somewhere else.

A holiday should be mutually chosen and come without silent forces of pressure or risks. I think a woman should have a separate lockable room for security and that you should take a friend along.

There's also the closure of the sale of your old home and ensuring that this money is spent wisely and with a positive outcome for you. Holidays stress all relationships, so ensure your next dating experience has ideal foundations and not unduly stressed.
