Wellingborough

I was asked to nominate a woman for International Women's Day, yesterday.

Having read an awful lot the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union (Op Barbarossa 22 June 1941 onwards), I suggested Maria Bruskina.

You might type her name into Google and read about her; I think what she did puts today's celebration of women, celebrity and other nonsense into a different perspective.

I can think of plenty i’ll have you know -

Peggy Mitchell - an East End lady the head of a dangerous family

Daenerys Targaryen - famous lady from history

Lady Mary Crawley - lady from the early 20th century, very famous

Erm, there are loads more I just don’t want to share.

Oh yeah, good one, a real pioneer for sultry women everywhere.

What about Minnie Mouse? YOU forgot her, and you’re a woman!

Personally my favourite is a lady called Daphne, she used to hang around with the group in their mystery van helping people out solving crimes, most people would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids...
