Too Freudian?

I read something recently that if you grew up with an absent parent or suffered any kind of abandment issues from childhood then you have to be very very careful and cautious about meeting people you have instant lust for. They say that subconsciously you seek out people that are going to be bad for you and the warning signs apparently are feelings of instant lust.

I guess it's something that could be explored in therapy/counselling to explain behaviour or feelings,are you asking personally?

I had counselling after an incident and they explored that.
