Ex partners

So I’ve had a few drinks now & I’m not sure if I’m looking for advice or maybe just a new perspective but here I go ...

I spilt up with my ex just over a year ago and apart from a few minor disagreements we have got on pretty good (about a 1000x better than I could have expected) we have the most amazing son together far surpassing any thing I could imagine.

She told me that she is pregnant from her new partner and as hard as it was to hear (not that I was expecting us to get back together) I was devastated

Now the new partner has said no children & they have split up

I’m really struggling to work out how I feel right now so is there anybody who wants to throw some insight my way?

I've been divorced over 16 years now an ex wife still worships the ground I'm going to so your doing better than I did. I do kinda get the new kid thing but and don't take this as a dig as it's not but could it not be a case of even though I don't want her I don't want anyone else to either. Just my 1st thought on it so see it as you will. Good luck

In my opinion her new partner is a total Shit, he is with a female who has a child, says no kids, gets her pregnant then fucks off. What a total bastard. XXX

You may be devastated by her being pregnant by another man but think how she must be feeling. The child will be your own child's sibling, accept the child and treat it as your own and include it in access trips, that would be best all round. Think of the poor little mite seeing his older sibling with a caring dad when it's own dad doesn't give a fuck.

Be supportive to the ex, she will need it XXX

I wish my ex all the best and hope he finds a partner and he's happy but it's my biggest fear if he ever had a child with anyone. Not so much for me more our kids. I know a few people who have met people and brought their new partners children up as their own whether full time or shared. You said you both get on...keep it like that. Don't make it awkward but don't let anyone take the piss out of you either. It takes a better person to be nice. Just think of your son and how happy he will be with his new wee brother or sister.
