I've looked for a part time job (weekend) but there is not really anything. Yes I could work in a night club behind the bar but that would massively screw up me doing coursework and making classes on time. It would leave me sleep deprived all the time. "Is being sleep deprived not part of the uni experience? My friend goes to uni full time and also works in a bar full time. She doesn’t get home until 5, 6am most mornings and still makes her 9am class. Plus she’s always on nights out, has her own accocomadtion etc. And has been to Amsterdam twice this year already! | |||

My friend goes to uni full time and also works in a bar full time. She doesn’t get home until 5, 6am most mornings and still makes her 9am class. Plus she’s always on nights out, has her own accocomadtion etc. And has been to Amsterdam twice this year already! "Fair enough. But it goes on the course you are doing. If its low intensity then you can do it. But if you are like me doing a fairly high intensity course then you are very limited. For example in the next 7 weeks I need to do 2 programing assessments, a maths assessment that is around 20 hours work on its own, 3 lab reports and revise for my 2 exams which I have in may. | |||

My friend goes to uni full time and also works in a bar full time. She doesn’t get home until 5, 6am most mornings and still makes her 9am class. Plus she’s always on nights out, has her own accocomadtion etc. And has been to Amsterdam twice this year already!
Fair enough. But it goes on the course you are doing. If its low intensity then you can do it. But if you are like me doing a fairly high intensity course then you are very limited. For example in the next 7 weeks I need to do 2 programing assessments, a maths assessment that is around 20 hours work on its own, 3 lab reports and revise for my 2 exams which I have in may. "She’s studying to be a primary school teacher, plus does a sports course and a business course. I don’t know the ins and outs but she’s always busy with uni work. It’s her main priority. It feels like you’re just making excuses OP. | |||

I don’t know how it is in England but I know in Scotland if you can actually prove you’ve applied for jobs and went for interviews (this is done through the jobseekers website) then you get a Jobseeker’s Allowance. I’ve never been on it so have absolutely no idea how much you get and if you would even get some as you’re at uni, but if you’re serious about swinging and all these excuses are legit (no offence, but they do seem like excuses) then look into it. OP it doesn’t need to be a club. There’s an extremely popular and busy ice cream shop near me which hires mostly students. Very flexible shifts, just let the manager know what days you can work and what hours and you’ll get it. There must be SOMETHING like that near you. | |||

" The only thing it sounds like you're trying is making excuses why you can't do something to improve your situation rather than actually doing something about it. Home's right (as he often is) you have two choices - sit back and wait for things to happen in your favour (which will be a very long wait) or roll your sleeves up and make them happen - I know which I'd favour. There are no end of employers with flexible working hours who don't expect experience etc and take on students all year round - you have to go and find them though they won't come to you | |||

I do. We usually start drinking at 8-9 and get to a club for half 12. I'm usually a bottle of vodka or whisky deep and still buy about 15 drinks in the club.

"Is this what they mean by the snowflake generation??? Part of student life is doing shit jobs, partying all night when you can on a fiver, and then rolling into uni without going home first! Sundays were when I did most of my sleeping for the week. All day long!!!
Its a £5 to £10 to get into a club and drinks aren't that bad at £2 to £3 but when you're buying 10 to 15 a night it mounts up.

"Oh my word. Stop bloomin’ whining and get a grip. It really isn’t hard to find a job whilst doing a first degree. I worked in a clothes shop, I had a friend who worked in MacDonalds, another couple who worked a Sainsbury’s, one managed to get his lifeguard quals and worked at the local leisure centre, loads did waitressing or bar work, a few worked in the Union bar. It’s not bloomin’ rocket science and we all graduated with none of us getting lower than a 2:1. Then when going out, we didn’t consume an entire bottle of spirits before leaving and then need 10-15 more. Beer wasn’t my preference either, but it was cheaper and I couldn’t really drink enough to get stupid d*unk as it just made me wee a lot. Have you seen how pricey it is to attend a swing club as a single male? I’m not sure what your expectations of this site or lifestyle are; but it’s not a bunch of women dropping their frillies for every bloke that does a Joey style ‘how you doin’?’ And, yes, I’m sure there are plenty of ladies who fall within your required age range. But, much like gainful employment, you have to look for them as they have no need to queue up for you. " | |||

Visit the uni bar get d*unk fuck girls have fun go to clubs party and discover there is a big world out there. If you can't get laid at Uni... Then your chances on here are at best slim no matter how many threads you start... I would if I had the money. And even when I have gone out I've talked to girls but its never really leaded anywhere.
