Research just published: cyclists 60+ years old have the immune system of 20 yr olds. Research conducted by the appropriately named Dr Lazarus.

Anyone fancy pumping up my tyres and taking me for a ride?

That's the issue - it's a bit old and the tyres are baggy. Needs a good airing.

Yep, but we won't need the bike. He said any exercise will do... And cyclists are seldom immune to trucks

I’m going to cycle through France for ten days following the Loire valley.

Come on girls - who wants to be taken up the Loire?

Well as the same findings were not announced for swimmers, runners, tenis players etc. One has to be suspicious that those with normal age related immunity may be missing from the sample for other reasons... just saying....

I'm sure the same effect for those who participate in an active sport will be similar to cycling... I've not read the study but it could be that cycling for many is a 20+ miles activity rather than a short distance sport... Whatever.... Exercise is good for us, even better for health if we walk & cycle to the shops instead of using the car(large bulky shops excepted of course)...simple changes to old habits and all that... There are also interesting folk you meet while cycling...

A strong immune system will be really handy, especially when recovering from the injuries caused by hitting yet another pot hole, when is government going to spend the road tax on the actual roads (Sorry I went off on one there, apologies, rant over).

I've reported 6 on one road this morning.... If we all reported one pothole a day when we see them, the council will need to act or pay compensation to anyone claiming for car/cycle damage.... They'll go bust on either road repairs or compo but there you go
