Do you ever find that there's something missing?

Morning all.

I'm not in a whiny mood here, just pensive. Something seems to be not quite right, and I'm wondering what other people do???

Life should be perfect right now.

I'm in a fabulous relationship with a man I am still head over heels in love with, three years on.

Financially, I'm more than comfortable.

My temporary job was just made permanent, and it's a calm, relaxing, and fun.

I have my own brand of spirituality that works for me, but doesn't fit into any of the norms.

I have a lot of friends these days for the first time in my life. We go out a lot.

So my question to you all is: what do you do to find that spark in life when life is perfect but something is still missing?

I look at what i do have and forget what i don't. We live in a world which tells us we never have enough..we need more more more!

When in reality we probably have more than we need to begin with.

I try to find humour in things around me, which right now is a struggle because I'm building flat pack furniture and I always find theres a bit missing.

To be honest, I hope that you find contentment in what you have. Its funny how people can look at other people and think, what have they got to worry about, but we all need something different.

Do you feel there genuinely IS something missing, or that now you're in a contented space you EXPECT something to be missing.

Maybe you need to work toward a new goal to feel that search for contentment.

I am so very grateful for what I do have.

I've not had it easy in general over the years, and the fact that I am in this place right now is mind numbingly magical.

I live a pretty simple life, don't have a lot of things to clutter it up, and like simplicity.

Please don't get me wrong--I'm not moaning over my life! I just feel like I should be doing something more to make life more meaningful...but I can't figure out what that is!

I'd want to understand myself more, to get precision upon what isn't right. That could be an emotional or circumstantial thing. Often the questions that we ask ourselves are some of our best tools that we have. I'd certainly not be rushing to change anything, until I understood what was being signaled.

We sometimes need to adjust and mourn for what's gone from our lives, maybe this raises its head when we've quieted down and have the energy and strength.

Although you are no doubt deserving of all the good things now , most people who have everything they wish for find giving something to those who don’t a very rewarding thing .

You exist and you make those around you happier people...what better meaning is there?

Give something back op like your time or kind words to others that are less fortunate. I have always found a sense of purpose and contentment in doing something for others, no matter how small it may seem if it makes a difference it matters.

Happiness is like an orgasm, you think about it too much and it will go away. It sounds like there's something missing because you have decided so.

This pretty much for me. Especially as a couple of friends my age have been diagnosed with stage four cancers and unlikely to see another Christmas.

I'm thankful and enjoying what I have.

I realised I'm somebody who will never be satisfied, I always want more, to do more to see more or experience more. I have friends who are just content in their little bubble and I'm kind of envious as don't think I'll ever feel like that, there's always something more to aim for.

I have very few of those things - and yet I’m still intrinsically happy!

Luckily I’m just naturally a happy person!

My Life isn't perfect. Lots of things are missing. I'm fucked if I know how to find that spark. It's a daily challenge.

Perfect doesn't exist

Some don't appreciate what they have, some don't.

It's pointless comparing with what anyone appears to have... It's prob a load if debt to fill their void souls.

Any mug can can get a car contract hire ob a swanky new car... Just a facade

Perfect does exist but sometimes it isn't the ideal you were expecting. Sometimes a little chaos is perfect.

Great answer

I write down three things everyday that I’m grateful for.

Gratitude is a great thing
