"That's a shitter! Bet he'd made all kinds of plans to enjoy life after work with family and friends. My father in law was a keen cyclists and walker. The day after he retired he had an aneurysm and had to have a leg amputated. Enjoy it while you've got it, life's short!" Oh dear, sorry to hear that, such a shame.

"I was just reading about it... so sad. I have to wonder if Id want to know in his position? They have estimated he has around 10years to live. Imagine living with that knowledge all that time. Of course if it was a year or two Id want to know to make sure I had everything in order (delete fab account, hide porn stash, dispose of toys ) but TEN years is an awfully long time to know you are dying when in actual fact he could just go on living blissfully unaware and not have the stress. I would reiterate, as has been said, gents, don't neglect your danglies... get checked. Mens health always seems to come a poor second to womens where cancer is concerned. It shouldn't. " There is hope though, cancer treatment is improving all the time. My sister in law has terminal lung cancer, she was given 18months, five years ago. It was in several organs and bones. She is on a fantastic drug, treated at Royal Marsden hospital. The only cancer they can no find, is the primary tumour, which is contained

She has 'owned' her cancer, done lots of research. Diet is important, as some food types, feed cancer. Her son in law is a nutritionist in Australia and advised her what to eat. "This made me cry watching him on bake off last night. My dads going through this at the moment. " Big hugs x my dad is hopefully at the end of his treatment for non hodgkins lymphoma. He didn't tell anyone other than his wife until a week before his treatment started because he wanted to process the news and have as many answers as possible for us when he did tell us. Seeing Bill describe how he felt dealing with the diagnosis just made me think how my dad must have felt but he did it virtually on his own

"I think they've given him 8to10 years. In my experience, cancer treatment has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years, so hope he gets longer " I'd cut down on the work schedule if it was me and just enjoy whatever I had left
