I've tried some of the natural, herbal ones. They're brown, gritty and taste, erm, challenging. The bee propolis one was ok but really expensive.

I'll keep getting the Corsodyl when it's marked down.

Is it not too abrasive to be used daily?

I know some toothpastes that are quite abrasive are not recommended to be used daily in case they remove the tooth enamel.

Wouldn't say that I liked the taste after 14 days, more I got used to it.

Tothpaste is meant to be minty not meaty (pretty sure that was my 1st impression of it) I bought my kids a strawberry toothpaste back when they were cute, that flavour didn't work for me either.

It corsodyl (ultra clean) pink inside and was fine to be fair. Applied with electric brush so doesn't really get into the mouth much.

The gel is much better. I use it on interdental brushes to help my gums and it works brilliantly and doesn’t taste anywhere near as bad as the toothpaste. Colgate’s gum treatment toothpaste works well too and just tastes like normal pretty much

Corsodyl mouthwash contains chlorhexidine which is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent.

It's normally for short term use for gum disease and can stain the teeth if over used.

"Has anyone used this? It is vile I tell you. I should have known when it said "most people like the taste after 14 days" and "minimise swallowing" (Mr N says I do that anyway )

The gel is much better. I use it on interdental brushes to help my gums and it works brilliantly and doesn’t taste anywhere near as bad as the toothpaste. Colgate’s gum treatment toothpaste works well too and just tastes like normal pretty much"

I'll try that next time if this tube ever runs out...

"I've been using both the toothpaste and mouthwash for a few years, and it didn't take me long to get used to the taste and texture. The main thing is it's really effective for gum health "

Yes, I'll be persevering for that reason but I won't be happy and will be making a BIG FUSS

"I want to try it to see how disgusting it is.

I won’t be trying it, I have a really bad gag reflex

I do as well, but it would be interesting to see all the same. I didn't appreciate how disgusting cod liver oil was until I'd tried that either,it went in the bin! "

Let's have a corsodyl party

It is horrific but tastes “good for you” - I’m such a masochist

I think it tastes as if I'm paying for something I did very wrong in a former life.

Och you weren’t *that* bad, despite what everyone says...

Do you know the full details or just the spin doctor version? "

Pro tip: don't drink black coffee after using Corsodyl mouthwash. I did this once and my teeth instantly stained a greyish beige colour. Didn't realise until I passed a mirror mid-morning at work and saw a medieval peasant grinning back at me!

Trust me that would be a welcome change from the toothpaste.

Incidentally how do you know what fish oil tastes like?

Me too, cod liver oil and malt, we also had calves foot jelly. It was nectar in comparison to the hell that is gum health toothpaste.

You're not actually supposed to keep brushing for 14 days.
