I would dispute that statement, it is not something we have ever encountered here or in the vanilla world. In fact we have found quite the opposite among the swinging community, swinging itself seems to be quite a levelling experience.

An Alpha doesn't need to stay in control.

An Alpha behaves in such a way that he looks after his pack in a compassionate way. He looks out for his friends, family and does it not for his gratification but out of a sense of duty.

You will find that people choose who the Alpha is and that control (and the responsibility it brings) is passed to them.
