Milk definitely and stir first. You should never pour boiling water on the coffee!

Doesn't anyone take sugar anymore ?

When making a coffee at work ( coffee granules supplied) it's coffee first, then sugar then milk and finally water....works for me

Hot water

I've done the test on people who say water burns the coffee, they didn't say a thing so I think it's codswallop

Boiling liquid (milk or water) can only burn fresh coffee. Instant it makes no difference.

If it’s instant then milk first

I prefer filter coffee - don’t ever put milk in the cafetière

Milk, who wants scorched coffee? Plus, it means you can mix it properly.

if you put milk and sugar in first, then water, you'll find un dissolved sugar in the bottom of the cup.

Apparently it's milk first in a coffee so you don't burn the granules but water first in tea. The husband taught me that.

Milk, sugar, coffee, hot water. The same for tea. Some say milk first in tea is wrong but if someone made you two cups of tea with milk first in one and milk last in the other, you wouldn’t tell the difference.

Milk first I’m told, otherwise the boiling water scorches the coffee. There’s a girl at work who can tell well it’s been done water before milk and she goes to make a fresh one, properly.

i do coffee, sugar milk , hot water ,have done all my life

however, my mate says i scorch the milk lol so milk should be last

to be honest i dont think it makes any differnce

if you filled a mug with boiling hot water then stirred in coffee milk and sugar it would taste the same

Where I work,if you want coffee, you put 20p in the machine for a plastic cup of lukewarm, brown sludge.

I've watched when the machine is opened for 'cleaning',I don't touch the stuff.

Neither - absolutely hate instant coffee...if you are going to drink coffee it has to be 'real' coffee!

Depends, if it’s ganules coffee, milk, ‘off the boil’ water. If it’s hot milk it’s nespresso followed by hot milk.

That's for fresh coffee with instant it makes no difference

Mrs insists the kettle rests before pouring on coffee when she makes it,

when I make it for her it's straight in

in 6yrs she hasn't noticed, so that proves it
