The movie!

If you were an animal would you want to live in a caged environment? You would be fed regularly and be free from predators.

Does the size of the cage matter? Does knowing you're caged matter? Does the type of animal make a difference? What else would affect your decision?

Slight tangent, but I always had a fantasy about being a sexy male’s caged pet.

I don’t think animals get the choice whether they’re captive or not. I daresay if I was an animal I’d rather have freedom in my natural habitat and all that entails.

What about the pets we keep? I have 2 Patterdales who routinely escape by any means however they always come back. They must prefer their bed, food bowls and warm laps to sit on. I dunno. I’m just glad they come back. I love the little bastards.

Great whites can't survive long in captivity because of there nervous system.

From a survival standpoint would it be better for a beta male animal, say a buffalo, to live in captivity where the likely hood of being eaten by a predator are nearly zero? They'll bring in females to mate with which might be unlikely for you in nature, put you'll get to procreate.

I'd be a buffalo in a large compound.

I can highly recommend the movie 'Blackfish' on Netflix. That may change anyones views on keeping animals in captivity. Yes,the size of cage matters,it matters a lot.

But only if you meant you.
