Management tried to institute one. They failed. It was a ridiculous suggestion that attempted a one size fits all dress code despite different job activities piece of stupidity.

I adhere to every code for dress in the most corporate, but non-conformist way possible.

They think their brand is cool so i bought a hoody with their name emblazoned on it and also a camo cap (we have to wear caps with a hard insert in them). So totally non conformist, but totally corporate!

There's supposed to be a dress code but it doesn't get enforced.

Yes, there's one. Pulled up for not wearing make up a few years ago now - to say he regretted that would be an understatement.

I wear a uniform... always have the top button undone though and I wear a vest top underneath so my cleavage shows slightly rather than the round neck t-shirts thatwe are ment to wear

At my current jobs it's not enforced or mentioned but most do dress smart casual so I do too.

At my old job I got told I wasn't allowed to wear a blouse cause it was too "distracting" despite the fact all my buttons were tied up and it fit well and wasn't showing anything deemed as inappriopriate. I think my boss was just jealous my boobs were bigger than hers.

Whatever I pull from my wardrobe. Some days it’ll be shorts, other days jeans and occasionally I’ll put on a suit

Boss being your own boss.

What about you OP?

I work in an entirely business suit wearing environment. It’s old fashioned and stuffy. I don’t wear a business suit.

I’m not client facing though and if I am we’re usually on an event somewhere so I wear what’s appropriate then. In Mallorca that’s usually some sort of summery getup.

I think my colleagues think I’m a bit eccentric... I go to work smart but I wear things like bright red trousers and floaty tops... I don’t wear anything but flip flops through the summer and I never wear a coat in the winter. No-one has ever said anything. I’m not a conformist though and what I’m wearing has no relevance to my ability to do a good job.

I used to wear nothing but suits to work. Then I got a job in a much more relaxed environment - everyone in the office wore jeans and t-shirts. But one day I got called into the big boss' office. He said I should be dressing more professionally because I was young and even though others in the office wore jeans, I shouldn't because it made me look like a student. So I started wearing my suits to that office and everyone I worked with mocked me for being too professional. Whatever.

Suit at work for men.... fairly straight forward

Business dress is what the code officially says.

I had a placement student a few years back who just didn’t seem to get it. Came in in tie died clothes, inappropriate shoes, and floaty linen trousers. After three conversations she still didn’t get it

I work in a bare below the elbows service with a uniform (white polo shirt, black trousers and shoes, navy fleece. Not very sexy ).

I regularly break it by keeping my watch on as I don't do any hands on treatment with patients, and work accidentally gave me a black fleece instead of navy, so I guess that's kinda breaking the rules too

No dress code as such, as don't face the public.

After a week getting an all over tan last summer tho I got pulled for wearing shorts to work.I'm wearing them today with tights which is what reminded me.

I smiled, nodded and then wore a skirt that was shorter than the shorts

Used to be in the Military so regularly in my junior days got into trouble contravening dress regs.

Where I work these days there is no dress code so people wear whatever they want. I am the only one who goes in dress in trousers and a shirt.

Being based in the admin office I’m not customer facing so can wear anything smart casual.

We do have a uniform available which all customer facing staff HAVE to wear. I choose to wear it too as I don’t have to make a decision on what to wear that day.

No uniform but smart casual attire. Got sent home last summer for not wearing tights with a dress that was way over the knees on a boiling hot day.

Yes, and I like to push the boundaries by adding my own flair. Management don't like it, but management can lump it. I wore a bandana last week, got told outright to take it off. No actual reason for it, just that the boss didn't like it. I point blank refused and I still have my job. Valid reasons, then fine, other than that .. I think not.

Got a dresscode and regularly got pulled up on it by a former manager who felt her expected dresscode somehow trumped the official company one. Thankfully the current manager realises that the days I need to be in a suit I will be but the rest of the time smart black jeans don't actually impair my ability to do my job!
