Why red??

the gym and random places

It's dawned on me that nearly every gym up and down the country is red!

Any ideas as to why this is?

I don't use a chain but I've trained all over the UK and I would say a good 85-90% have walls painted red

It's an aggressive colour that gets your adrenaline pumping.

If they were lavender you would want to sit drinking chamomile tea , as someone massages your feet.

I thought red was associated with motion and kinetic energy? That tests have shown that it is likely to make people feel energetic?

I once read that that's why fast food places often have a red/orange color scheme - because it gets people in and out faster. I dunno...

I love yellow, but I know it looks crap on me. So Addidas have a yellow top but would never buy it because I am to pale
