Dunno only thing I can think of is the wind or the water content in the air is lower, as the snow doesn't seem as wet as usual, it's like powder that's blowing around everywhere.

Something to do with ' dry air ' rather than ' wet air' the weather forecast said so

I haven't had to scrap either. Just press the buttons for the window heaters.

It's probably too cold for frost.

Confused? Let me explain.

The ice you get on your car is basically frozen mist which condenses on your windscreen then freezes.

If the ground is frozen solid and the air is dry then there is no mist to freeze no matter how cold it gets. Also strong wind will stop it from forming.

Maybe cos it's been snowing there hasn't been enough moisture in the air to freeze into a heavy frost?

It's to do with lack of moisture. The snow is powdery too... not like the normal wet snow we often get.

a quandary, could you change my mind?

No scraping the screen for ice here either, just brush the snow off. Been having to fill the screen wash up yesterday however that was like slush even though its meant to go down to minus 20, outside temperature was minus 7..
