I would call it a roll.

I think the term cob is used in some regions, I have heard people from the North or England calling them cobs.

How about barm cake? It's all regional stuff

Roll, Bap, Barm, Batch, Cob.... regardless, if bacon is involved, I'm in!

Bury, Lancashire

For the uninformed,

A Role is a long and sort of sausage shaped and can be either soft or crusty.

A Barm cake is round and soft

A Bap is the same a barm cake but smaller in diameter

A Cob is a barm cake but crusty

A Tea cake is basically a barm cake with currents.

A sandwich is two rounds of bread with a filling between them.

You can put bacon on them all with the exception of a tea cake... that's just wrong

Bacon works in a tea cake, although I prefer to put cheese in mine.

Noooooo!

There should never be brown sauce or mushrooms or bloomer bread!

It has to be soft white sliced bread with a 6 month shelf life, proper butter and ketchup
