So is it normal to drop someone an email saying hello and introduce yourself nicely then get blocked for it ! I mean that’s just rude or is it just me not getting site rules

You weren't their type. They couldn't be bothered to tell you, so they blocked you.

Not nice, move on and forget them.

It means the other party has no interest in you/your mail - and is saving you both the bother of wasting time by future contact being prevented.

Yes it's rude but some people don't care.

They might just know you and want to avoid embarrassing conversations.

No it isn't rude, it just means that they don't want to meet you and block you so neither party contacts the other again. I regularly block members I don't want to meet, mostly I send a polite reply first these days. XXX

If you know it’s common practice why are you even asking the question? It states it’s not rude and should be taken for a no thank you.

How many times had you messaged them previously? Did you read their profile first? There are many reasons why you might have been blocked.

Yes it's very rude. I mean if you went and said hello to a woman in a bar and she just blanked you that would be pretty rude.

Just where the rainbow end.s . .

It's the way some people work on here I'm afraid Better they do it now rather than chat like some do Arrange a meet and then block you without meeting up .

People use it as a filter and although you may have been accepting of a polite thanks but no thanks, many on here become abusive once they've been turned down. The block prevents this

don’t worry about the ones that block you, it’s the ones that reply agreeing to meet you, you have to keep your wits about.
