In order to lose I have to consume at least 1000 less calories a day than I am using, which means do one heck of a lot of time consuming exercise in order to eat anywhere near normally, or stick to an almost intolerably restrictive diet. | |||

Indeed, Keto diets are a version of CICO, utilising the fact that breaking down fats "costs" more than carbs to engineer a deficit. | |||

I would suggest you see a dietitian if you don’t want to do the correct research yourself. Unless you’re in the cutting stage for a bodybuilding competition, I would suggest you keep your macronutrients balanced. Even when competitors are cutting, everything is monitored and fine tuned.
