I'll be approaching 6years of single life,finding it harder and harder to let people in and even find someone. What's everyone else's situation.

Being single really suits me at the moment...

I’ve had a few girlfriends over the years, but they always seem to hold me back or get in the way (even though they were super lovely ladies)...

I like the idea of settling down, but equally like the idea of being single for the next 10-20 years

lived alone most of my life and single .

just hasnt happened a relationship , if it wants to it will is my attitude.

lifes not so bad living alone , struggle with bills a bit sometimes , apart from that its ok .

probably spent to much time on the computer though instead of doing things .

mind you i stand on my own in the pub as well.

maybe just the way im made but i never worry about it .

I've been officially single for almost 8 years..... had a couple of brief 'relationships' in the meantime but also had a couple of celibate phases.....

I do miss the closeness of being with someone you know well and having a 'plus one'..... but I know I am much more content being on my own, I just don't think we are all made for relationships!!! xx

I wanted to have another child by the time I was 30, I'll be 35 in a few months! Even if I met someone this year there would be 10 almost 11 years between my daughter and the sibling.

Been single about 9 ish years now. Actually can't ever imagine getting into a actual proper grown up relationship again. But I'm happy how things are. Love my own space when I can get it, I'm usually busy spending any spare time with family and friends.

my brother and two younger sister's have/having kids. There's 15years between me and one of my sister's. Not that much of a issue I'd say. Great figure btw

There's 11 years between my sister and I but I know my mum found it a pain having got me to secondary school age and then having to do the whole newborn to school age thing again!

I feel like I've been a mum to my sister, was always me picking her up from places early hours of the morning or me she would call if she was in trouble!

I was staunchly single and always said it would take someone perfect for me to get into a relationship, thinking that the perfect woman doesn't exist.

Then maid walked into my life, and I fell for her with little or no resistance.

There can be a danger of losing something good, just for the sake of committing to not committing, I loved my single life, but this is like life plus, I don't think I would have given up singledom for anyone else

I've been single for just over a year. We were on and off though. Before that, I was single for over a decade. I just don't do well in relationships. I'm content being single. I always have been and that's the problem. Some I've dated have said they don't like not feeling needed and feel I have a wall up, to stop them from getting too close. But I can't change who I am and in all honesty, as I've gotten older, I've gotten even more picky on who I spend my time with. I have a feeling i am looking at single life for a very long time to come

God I've no idea how long I've been single it's been years though. I'm very open to having a relationship but not just any old guy I won't settle and have no problem being on my own. I do miss cuddles and holding hands and someone to keep me warm at nights though but I do have a hot water bottle

Interesting topic. I love single life but really want a conventional relationship

,have a family life etc. I get worried sometimes as I get older, i definitely want to settle down. I started a relationship 2 years, we met on a night out, it went on for over 6 months. During that time, I hid my profile, did not log on, and stayed away from all swinging related stuff.

Then she mentioned that her dad who lives in sheffield wanted to meet me and invited us for the weekend

. I thought this was getting serious, time to tell her, make or break.

Unfortunately when I told her she just stormed out and never picked up my calls. Her sister did text me with the word 'u are really sick. Get some help, u prick' and 2 days later she put the keys in the letter box. I went though difficult time and was really missing her but hey ho it wasn't meant to be. I came back with a vengeance

Almost 6 years single . All my friends are loved up and I don’t even get a date.

It’s hard to meet people nowdays . I started missing some attention and a companion to go out with or go for walks .

I can’t decide whether I’m sad about that or not. I don’t really think about it in those terms. I like my own company and I’ve never felt lonely so I’m not really sure I need anyone in my life on that sort of permanent basis. Content I think is the word.

I have had some wonderful relationships, have been in love a few times and in lust many many times...... but never met someone I wanted to live with and make a life with...... sometimes it makes me a little sad but mostly I'm very happy with my life and the way I live it
