To be technical!

The ssw has caused the Jetstream to meander somewhat, this winter has been rather abnormal in lots of places, and the worst anomaly is the Arctic which is 30 degrees above normal, even worse they had 3 days above freezing this month and considering its in arctic winter with no sun that's frankly fucked up.... Anyhow try not to panic, its just driving blizzards and snow for a week

Here in Doncaster, the icy Siberian blast has caused massive blizzards and snow drifts of up to 1/2 cm in depth.

I was in the supermarket last night,panic buying and stocking up on loo roll,bottled water,bread and,of course,chocolate.

I've broken up all my furniture and piled it in the corner ready to start a bonfire and now I'm going back to bed with a hot water bottle.

I've seen enough disaster movies to know how to ride this emergency out.

Here in Germany it is bitter cold. We had -10 last night and forecast lower for tonight and tomorrow. Not much snow though, just a few flurries yesterday.

Well my daughter has footy training later and the journey is over the hill's a bit,few weeks ago I nearly got stuck so don't want the same. I would hope in this cold it would be cancelled anyway,but she really wants to go.

At least if it's properly coming down she won't be mithering to go.

And to think they call me a witch on the strictly thread

yep.... all buses here are suspended and car is snowed in... so even if i wanted to... i couldn't make it to the metro (which is running an emergency core service) to even get in......

officially stuck..... i can see my local group of shops about 100 meters up the road.... and i am not even thinking about going out....

when sky news have got their reporter at the next junction up on the A1 from where i am, and they are loving the snow reporting.. you know its bad....

in fact i have ditched 5 live for bbc newcastle.... i haven't listened to local radio morning show in years!!!!
