Well you know what to do now when he contacts you again.

Trust and believe me that I'm shit hot at advice for other people but can't follow my own.

When he gets back in touch to see if he can arrange the date you have two options really, make plans that he could keep or could let you down again but in doing so you are telling him that it's fine for him to have no respect for you, that he can pick you up and drop you whenever you want, that you aren't high value, that you have no respect for yourself. You can take that first option because it is hard to say no to when you really want to see the guy and may feel like you're punishing yourself by not having the date, but moving forward you'll ruin how he views you and once that's done you won't be able to change his mind.

The second and probably hardest option is to not contact him, if he contacts you just say you're not feeling it anymore, you were up for meeting the first time and the second but just say you have your own rules that you can't break. He'll other try harder and harder in which case let him work for it.

Again I'm good at advice but if it were me I'd have already turned up on his night out and smacked him in the mouth.

People don't say it's his loss cos it's not his loss, gripes me when people say that. He's not lost fuck all,he had the chance to meet and he didn't want to, rather go with his mates instead the 'loser' is the person wanting to meet him. The op looks attractive so I'm guessing the dude is equally as attractive.

This can be salvageable though if the op just hangs back now and see if he works his way back to her. Keep busy and get on with stuff, don't initiate any contact, if he messages don't have to ignore but maybe respond with one word answers or worse an emoji

However it was a first date, no relationship established and you've found out before you even got to a date that he's not that interested(not meant in a harsh way) and if he's of the "treat em mean to keep em keen" way of thinking he's found out it won't work with women who have self respect.
