Years ago, when I first started using the forums, we used to have regular avatar challenges....there would be a theme set and forumites would get a few days to create a new profile pic in keeping with the theme.

Entrants would be listed and forumites would vote, 3 votes each, for a winner.

The winner would choose the next theme.

They were great fun and really got people chatting.

I'd like to kick this off again with a new challenge if there's enough interest....

Would you guys take part?

How do we feel about "the big freeze" for a weather rrelated theme? Might aswell get summat good out of the fact it's fucking freezing!

They were fun when I first joined but fairly recently someone done it weekly and it got a bit Zzzzzz. Not sure what happened with that!

Like all good things you can get too much. In principle I’m in favour as long as it is sporadic.

Cute'n'Sassy used to do them every few months. I had a half decent camera and a tripod then, not so easy taking a selfie on ma mobile now though.

That's all far too sophisticated for me...I have a selfie stick and a built in timer I've propped my phone up in all sorts of places

Same here. They were fun when they were occasional but when they were every weekend they lost some of their creativity and charm for me. Some of my favourite avatars have been a result of those threads though.

Yep I started with that but ran out of props for certain locations - the mini tripod cost less that a fiver and the remote was about £3

See I've been using a bit of Blu Tack and the timer on my phone, it's a Galaxy s4. It was about 2:30 when I started to take ma clock pic
