I’m lucky to have been quite a few times with Work

Food is not what we call Chinese and is completely foreign to what you expect, people can be really nice, but some things are not good but you need to understand they have a different way of life!

China the countryside has been bastardised

The cities are huge and suffering badly with smog

Tell me your experiences

And I will share my own

Like my first buisiness lunch and got served a chicken stew that was cold and had every single part of the chicken in it, later a plate of such heads arranged on a plate in a circle

Countryside between the major cities can be quite stunning.

Not all the cities are filled with smog - it’s really only Beijing that has the biggest problem .

Agreed some of the food can be interesting, however most of the time you will be served fresh delicious dishes . The stuff in the uk we call Chinese food - isn’t chinese .

Have you ever been to weifang, shouguang, Tainjin, ningbo, Shanghai, nanjing, Shenzhen, dalian, hangzhau!

Eaten beef blood soup

I have seen a mountain removed to build an industrial estate, I’ve been through the back streets of shanghai seeing people living in one room with no clothes, I’ve seen dead bodies being dragged through the streets by a crippled bigger asking for money, seen people beaten and shouted at to work harder!

Yet these people are most friendly to customers and I have good friends in China

I've never been to China but I'm pretty sure I'd lose lbs if I went, I'm not very brave when it comes to trying different foods.

My friend went to Beijing last year and loved it, said the women in the malls were tiny and immaculately dressed.

It’s the barber shop signs that get me

You know the old fashion red and white rotating swirly sign

It’s not a barbers shop in China

Always full of girls even middle of the night

Some of the food the street vendors sell is amazing but I can't eat a lot as they put ginger and chilli with nearly everything in the Henan province.

If you get the chance to a foot massage they are amazing, used to go regularly with a friend to get my feet pampered for an hour.

The spa experience is amazing. 24h in luxurious spa , free food, massage , sauna etc... Don't expect happy ending tho, but chances are you get happy handing . The weirdest thing so far is a soup with crocodile head. To be fair the soup was great

Not been to china,but have spent time in India. My fave ever sign was on outside of a garage "Puncher Repairs" great place full of friendly people,I've never seen so many smiles,although you do take your life in your hand when crossing roads.and a tad odd seeing McD's with no hamburgers on menu.(No,I didn't eat there!)

I've travelled to various parts of Asia but never China and have seen amazing things and awful things . I totally agree though that the various asian foods you get in this country have little in common with the corresponding dishes in their native country, I've always preferred the original in its own country. Saying that...I had Nasi Goren in Indonesia that was so spicy hot it turned my face numb for about 2 hours

I was travelling around asia through march and april.

Did Singapore, thailand, Vietnam, hong kong, japan, south korea and ending in shangia china.

No smog at all and an absolutely amazing city.

Walking along the bund admiring the scenery as everything was lit up was awesome.

We have spent a lot of time in Malaysia and Singapore. Great places, great food. Would love to try China at some point
