Hate the whole idea behind "friend zoning", it has an air of sexism and entitlement to it.

This woman isn't interested in you sexually, that's the bottom line and there is no changing that unless she feels there is a change.

Sorry to burst bubbles but that's usually what women day to let someone down gently that we don't find them attractive.

It's so much easier to say I don't want to ruin our friendship than to say I don't fancy you.

And of course men say it too, I've heard similar lines more than once and I'd rather they say I don't fancy you or you're not my type

I had a few male friends try it on once I became single and I truly regarded them as my friend, unfortunalty it put me right off them as I never thought of them as anything but friends to me, be careful she doesn’t bin you all off together if you try to make a move, not everyone fancies everyone in this world, you might just end up with one less friend.

Sorry to burst bubbles but that's usually what women day to let someone down gently that we don't find them attractive.

It's so much easier to say I don't want to ruin our friendship than to say I don't fancy you.

And of course men say it too, I've heard similar lines more than once and I'd rather they say I don't fancy you or you're not my type

See, I was going to post on here to rant about the concept of the 'friend zone'...personally, the whole idea is a complete train wreck that feeds into this ridiculous stereotype that men - particularly straight men - are incapable of 'just being friends' with a woman, and actively RESENT the idea of having a platonic relationship with a woman...

However, you just hit on one of my pet peeves about this and many other social networking sites...WHAT THE FUCK is the point of having thousands of 'online friends'? You're never going to be able to keep in touch with them, much less build up the kind of connection one usually associates with 'friends'...

That's why my friends list is pruned on a regular basis...

I rarely accept a friend request and never from someone I just started chatting to. It's a very short list, at the moment.

Nothing wrong with the friend zone 80% of people at clubs and large parties are in the friend zone and socialise but don’t play with others attending, getting people out of the friend zone is the difficulty, but as adults a bit of play and see what happens won’t harm either of you x

Well, you can present your very negative view of the friend zone - I have a much more positive one I want to present. I know my male friend all want to be friends with me anyway, and a bunch of them over the years were hoping that one day we might get physical. I'm cool with that, I would have slept with several of them were I not attached, I fancied them too!

I wish I knew, I get on famously with a lovely girl at work, we have each in stitches constantly and we are great friends, we have cried on each other’s shoulders for various reasons and we turn to each other in times of need, yet I’m friendzoned even tho she tells me I’m amazing and far too good to be on my own. It’s a cruel world.
