Personally I don't think you can beat Springsteen for live performances.

Bon Jovi at Wembley in 1995 were awesome. Bryan Adams at MK bowl in 1991 was great. Billy Joel is pretty good too.

Foo Fighters at Glasto last year was immense. Chemical Bros in 2011, Skrillex in 2015, Public Service Broadcasting at the Glade was very special (small stage) and James at Bearded Theory in 2015 all stand out for me. All amazing in different ways.

David Bowie at Milton Keynes in 1983 and at Wembley in 1986 both brilliant.

Frankie goes to Hollywood were great at Wembley Arena in mid 80's too.

The best though was Squeeze at The Cambridge Corn Exchange in late 90's.

The Script put on an amazing show

But the one live act that made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and put a lump in my throat was the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

Not your typical musical gig but stunning nonetheless, the atmosphere was phenomenal!!

For me MUSE are an outstanding band to see live.

And a surprising one for me was PINK she was incredible at Hyde Park a few years back.

I've seen many a live gig in last few years....stand outs are:

Marmozets- 1 in 12 club Bradford 2010 / arts club loft liverpool 2017 amazing live band....so much energy

We Are Scientists- ynot quarry stage 2016 reliving my daughter's first gig experience with her,at side of stage this time...they never fail to impress

Tom Grennan- 2Q Festival Derby- that boys voice is amazing and sent goose bumps with his stripped back performance...then saw him 3 more times during summer with full band

Take That - Progress 2011 Manchester...a then girlfriends Xmas present... I can't knock them, they put on one hell of a show..pure entertainment and spectacle

Public Service Broadcasting - rough trade Nottingham album launch ...they are sublime.

I could go on.....this year however may top them all... I'm working with Robert Plant

Airbourne without a doubt, just so much energy and a great atmosphere at their gigs.

AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Rammstein, Black Spiders and Motorhead (RIP Lemmy!) have all been awesome bands I've seen in the last 5 years too.

Seen some unbelievable gigs from the Sex Pistols to The Jam, The Smiths, Foo Fighters, Guns and Roses, Stone Roses, Oasis, The Charlatans even Robbie Williams but have to say that the best and most powerful music that we see every time they come to London has to be Queens of the Stone Age. Josh Homme is so underrated.

Saw them in Glasgow on friday and last year in Edinburgh at The Usher Halls, only holds bout 2000 people. Didn't even like them before I went and not listened to their music since but my god I've never saw a band work a crowd like that. They were something else

Got to say Reverend And The Makers tho cos the place was literally bouncing. A lot to be said for smaller gigs x

To answer the question, recently I;d plump for Nick Parker who I saw in Bedford a couple of weeks ago. Lyrically very, very clever.

Best ever is an impossible choice, seen 100s of bands over the last 30 years - Frank Turner, Janes Addiction, Pixies, Carter USM, Wonder Stuff, Skinny Lister, Ferociuous Dog, levellers are the ones that jump out as the bands I;ve seen the most and/or always make an effort for so I guess must be up there in the "best" list.

Best ever in a different way, Jah Wobble with his Japanese band. And Jah Wobble with his jazz band.

Definitely best ever was Hawkwind, 1978 and 2015.

And I suppose the best ever was Van Der Graaf Generator, 4 different tours since they reformed about 2010.

Coldplay as much as it pains me we’re awesome live. Foo fighters always epic. Arcade fire, the killers and oasis. The doves, the stone roses, primal scream and so many more I’ve seen live over the years. It’s hard to chose a best one because they were all amazing gigs in there own right.

I saw them in Edinburgh twice and once in Brampton. Used to drink in the blind beggar on broughton road a lot, was one of my favourite bike pubs. Wouldn't have found it if it wasn't for them talking about it on stage all the time at their shows :P

Couldn’t agree more, brings goosebumps and a smile every time I think about their gigs. Also loved Foo Fighters at V Festival and Stereophonics at their warm-up gigs.for the better half it’s seeing Bruno Mars from near enough the front row twice.
