It's fine, in the same way that Fosters lager is fine for what it is, but you cannot compare it with the quality of of craft beers, German lagers and so on.

Most experts agree that it is only for use in cocktails. It is ok in citrus drinks and in martinis but is muddled and confused in anything else.

Gordon's has never been a good gin. It was always a case of it's the only thing most bars stocked so you had to make do with it.

My favourite has always been tanqueray.

I haven't purchased Gordon's since they reduced the ABV from 40 to 37.5%, whilst keeping the price static.

The aromatics require a high ABV to provide the flavour and aroma.

Unfortunately, a fair number of the 'craft' gins purchase industrial alcohol and then re-distill to impart the flavour and aroma.

INdustrial alcohol is dirt cheap; a secondary flavour/taste distillation is dirt cheap, HMRC is pleased, and you get ripped off at £30 a bottle.

Having travelled world wide since late 70’s ... the one drink that gives a taste of home in South America or Africa is a Gordon and Schweppes with ice and a slice.

The Gordon’s may be hidden at the back of the shelf in the uk ... but in rest of the world it will still taste like home to me

There’s no denying that fruit flavoured drinks are a huge hit at the moment.

Take cider as an example, it’s more profit in ciders than beer or ale at the moment.

And drinks such as koppaberg and the variants of strongbow or bumpers are huge.

The spirits market was always going to follow this trend as it where the profit is at the moment
