I am curious to see others fave books their have read i love reading books

Mine has to be "The Halo Effect" or going down the horror road Stephen Kings IT there is alot in that book they left out in the mini series and movie

Just started reading over a book i bought 10 year ago that back then i couldnt put down called " Who killed Kurt Cobain "

Robert Rankins' Brentford Trilogy is a joy,Terry Pratchett,of course,always quality and Douglas Adams is brilliant. Ian Rankins Rebus books are great too,dark and grimey

I'll read pretty much anything but Stephen King is always a firm favourite, I discovered Carrie when I was 13 and haven't really looked back since, I inherited my stepdad's vintage collection a few years ago and I've added bits to it since... currently on three editions of It (including my '86 hardback fifth print edition which came from my stepdad's collection) three of Salem' s Lot and two of Gerald's Game. My favourite ever novel is It but I'm currently rereading The Shining.

At the moment I’m reading ‘F you very much’ by Danny Wallace.

It’s a good read thus far and a much needed respite from uni prescribed Philosophy books.

Go to books for me are crime thrillers - particular favourites being Peter James and Mark Billingham (although am struggling with his most recent) - beyond that will read almost anything from historical fiction to biographies.

Favourite book ever is probably Birdsong by Sebastian Faulkes which just moved me immensely

I like Harlan Coben..Mandasue Heller and Steven Leather. Have read 2 Peter Robinson lately and they have been great reads. Like books where you don't know whats going to happen till the very end. Best book I ever read was the Nemesis File by Paul Bruce. It was the only book I've read more than once x

I find myself going back probably once a year to re-read John Irving's 'A prayer for Owen Meany'.

I've read most of his other books and while they're good, they don't draw me back time and again like this one does. Hard to explain its magic, but everyone I know who has read it, tends to agree!

Oohh I found "Who killed Kurt Cobain" very a interesting book! And love Stephen King too, I really love Mary Higgins Clark and James Herberts, Rats series are great, but I am really loving Ben Elton lately, wasn't sure I would tbh, he has surprised me

I've read 'My best friends girl' at least 15 times, love it and most of what Dorothy Koomson writes.

E.F. Benson's Mapp and Lucia books are another firm favourite.

My absolute fav read HAS to be the Millenium Trilogy, Stieg Larsson was a genius.

The Cormeran Strike series by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling) is also a fab read

I've read some of the shardlake books and enjoyed them, I have a bit of a thing for the Sven hassell books and quite a few old ones gathered at this stage.

Next on my list is the revenant, I wonder if the film stuck to the book?

Iust confess to not being a big reader, I spend all day reading and the last thing I think of doing when I get home is looking at more words generally. Although, the most enjoyable books I've read are th original bond novels. Read the whole lot cover to cover, one after the other and lost myself in the world of espionage.

You'll enjoy it and it might actually educate you

I tend to read a lot of non fiction military books.

Blackhawk Down and Band Of Brothers were really good reads. 7 Troop by Mcnab was good too. Damien Lewis is a really good author of non fiction military books, I read Operation ‘Certain Death’ in about 6 hours.

I mainly go for crime/thrillers. Love the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, Dennis Lehane's Kenzie and Gennaro novels are great too.

Recently got into old whodunnits like Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh.

I always go back to Virginia Andrews, any of her earlier books are fantastic, she left a lot of unfinished work when she died so a ghost writer took over and completed her works but he’s starting to stray from her style in the past few years which is a shame

Rachel cain, weather warden series is a good read too, at least it is until they bring it out as movies and ruin it like they have with so many others (don’t get me started on Harry Potter books to films

)

I’ve just read I am Legend by Richard Matheson. It’s a short story written in 1954 but it hasn’t dated at all. It’s so much better than the film and the ending is awesome!

I believe there are actually three films based on the book. The Omega Man and The Last Man on Earth were released in the 60s and 70s. I’ve not seen either of them so can’t say whether they’re any more true to the book.
