Does anyone know if these die with the person?

I suppose it depends on what the item is and how it was bought. If by cash then whoever has the receipt should be ok, but by card might be a bit trickier. Check on your local trading standards website. X

Local trading standards and the consumer rights act don't mention this. First place I looked. Bought by card over the Internet. We have the receipt.

Most contacts die with the person under contract law.

It really depends on the context as to the actual application of the law.

Bedworth

The contract is between the person who purchased the goods and the retailer.

"Does anyone know if these die with the person?"

Now THAT is a question.

I have no answer unfortunately, but it's worth asking one of my solicitor chuns.

I am a solicitor. The person who inherits the goods would inherit the consumer rights appertaining to the goods.
