Question for the ladies

Just bought a corset from E-bay. Only when I paid for it and went back and had another look, its a lace up back one!

Stupid question.... BUT

How the hell do I do it up all by myself!!!!

Guys pleae dont offer to do it up for me, thats not the point!!!! lol

I read the details but didnt pay much attention the the rear pic!!!

My other corset is bad enough, putting it on with all the hooks and eyes!! Takes me ages, but I can do it!!! lol

I do mine by lacing them so you have 2 sets of laces or one long set that you have to place correctly before tying so that you have enough left over in the middle of the corset so you can tie them there

You can tighten each half separately and meet in the middle and tie together there

Reading back on this if you can make sense of that then good on ya

Practice makes perfect, honest!

I live on my own, and have to do up my corsets on my own all the time.

Pull in the middle as tightly as you can, then bend back and forth to ease the tension.

Reach for the upper most string, pull as tightly as you can, then pull the next set of strings, then the next set until you reach the middle. Pull the middle set on each side to tighten.

Do the same from the bottom.

Repeat a few times until the required tightness is achieved.

I have been advised to wear the corset at least 30min before the final tightening, to allow the body to get used to it.

Put a zip up the side. I've seen this a few times. Once you've got the lace ties set correctly you can be in and out of it in seconds.

It should be an easy job for someone with a sewing machine or just take it to a seamstress.

Impossible ladies, once it's tied tight it ain't going nowhere! and if it's loose enough to swivel seems pointless to wear it.

Unfortunately, I have no answer other than get yer date to tie it..or prectice, practice, practice

I would advise wearing a T shirt when you try it on, as some vendors could refuse return/refund if it is soiled.

The strings should be long enough so that you can reach them once you have it on, then adjust from there x

Yeah, I suppose it depends on what type of corset you've got.

When you fit the zip you'll have to put an extra strip of material in, to fit the jip to. You can also get stronger zips too. Only you will know it's there and I don't think too many guys will be looking at your attire when he's got a hard on and you've made it clear that you're up for it.

Kate used to be an Ann Summers rep and corsets with zips at the side were a good seller. I know that not all ladies like the same style of clothing but there's nothing wrong with using tried and tested ways to solve a problem.

I got stuck in a corset with a zip in it in Debenhams once

Was sooo embarrassing as the assistant had to get me out of it

I don't think she was expecting a faceful of boobs before her morning tea break

All proper corsets lace at the back.

Has it been sent properly laced?That means that the ends you tie are in the middle not at the top and bottom?

Grrrrr wish i cud up load pics lol

Assuming they are in the middle fasten it at the front ,reach back and tighten the laces at the top and bottom,dont over tighten the first time.

You will be left with two long loops in the middle of the back,tie with a bow!

If you have to relace,its much harder,i wud google for instructions sorry

if you look on utube there are several tutorial videos.....am assuming its a steel boned or heavy lacing type of corset......it takes a while to do it but you get quicker with practice .....

one thing you can do if handy with a meddle or know someone who is. Get a zip and sew it in the side. Easy to do cos usually the bone is enclosed in channels hope this help. Best place is usually at the side hidden and easy to fasten x

NEVER fit a zip to a steel busked corset. they are designed to adjust each and every time you wear them and also for corset training. zipped corsets are not designed to be adjusted by much. if you fit a zip you will regret it when you get to grips with it because you will not be able to lace tighter around your waist when feeling thin or to lace looser when not feeling thin! no matter how strong the zip they are just not meant to take the strain that a proper corset can take - they are constructed rather than sewn...

i live alone and after some strange contortions and a bit of practice i soon got the hang of lacing myself in. one important thing to remember is that when hooking in begin at the top or bottom and hook in sequence, the same applies when unhooking or you run the risk of getting stuck!
