You've Got Mail.

It had Christmas, a quaint bookshop, great actors and a good script.

Easy watching, but not mind-numbing or sickly sweet.

I have an everlasting love affair with the film A Room with a View, so that’s one.

Amélie, I’d never seen it and then someone said I reminded them of the character, so I watched it. I enjoyed the film, I think the comparison was a leap.

An Affair to Remember. Blue Valentine. Before Sunrise trilogy. The opening of Up! When Harry Met Sally. Gone with the Wind. WALL-E.

But in many ways, my favourite....is Brief Encounter.

You know what, it's not marketed so much as a romance film, but has anyone seen 'Submarine'?

It's directed by Richard Ayoade and about a teenage boy trying to find his direction in life, who's infatuated by a beautiful and rebellious girl and tries to apply his geekish and well thought out logical ways to win her over.

The cinematography is beautiful and the story is so reminiscent of school days and that first big crush.

Such a good film to watch, even if you're not a fan of romantic films.
