So, lady advertises hotel meet and status displays something along the lines of: “Let down today. Booked and paid for hotel, agreed to share costs but he can’t make it.”

Gallant knight to the rescue ... “If it’s still booked and you’re game I’ll share the costs with you.”

Long to short, a deal is struck times agreed, hotel postcode received.........

“Do you have Ping?” She asks (yes I do but I say no)

“I can pay you cash when I arrive.”

“Rather not,” says she, “I’ve been let down by 2 guys today.” Sends over her (or his) bank details and asks for bank transfer as a show of faith.

I repeat that I can and will pay cash when I arrive - £40.

You can see where this is going. Needless to say I paid nothing and when I sent a photo of my car Sat Nav showing destination and time all kik correspondence ceased.

So, this is my take on the con. There is no hotel booked and males more gullible than I will just bank transfer their money. Or, she has booked and yet still demands a 50% sob story share of the fees. 10 guys = £400.

They’re not that bright. She (or he) didn’t con me, but someone else might just take those bank details and pass them on to HMRC.
