"A friend of mine had extremely low vit D levels and was taking supplements. However, she continued to feel unwell and further tests have discovered she is producing massive quantities of calcium. It now appears to be a problem with the parathyroid gland, which regulates calcium production. Likely to have a scan to check which of the 4 glands is the problem and removal will hopefully resolve the problem. So if anyone is being given vit D deficiency related blood tests, ask them if your calcium levels are normal." Funny you should say that. "I've just been told I've got a vitamin D deficiency. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it serious? Should I be worried?" shouldn't be serious ,like somebody said get in sun ,eat fish ,beef liver ,cheese and egg yolks | |||

The vast majority of humans in the northern hemisphere are D deficient. Sun alone won’t do anything, you need supplementation of aprox 5-10,000 iu a day. YouTube Iver Cummings and Vit D and have a look at the vit D council. | |||
