So I applied for insurance and they told me I was too young.

So I said then why are you offering it to me.

Not heard from em since, even after I turned 50

I am looking forward to my 50th birthday in less than 4 years' time!

Don't know how or where to celebrate it yet, however, it will involve a very good meal or two, in either London or Paris.
