I have skinny wrists and most of my watches end up that way.

I'm right handed and wear my watch on my right wrist.

It's easy to keep a consultation to time as I'm able to glance unobtrusively at the watch face, whilst making notes, without the rather more obvious looking at the left wrist.

Wearing the watch on the inside of the wrist is a pretty reliable way to damage it.

I took my watch off on the day I gave birth to my eldest son, and have never worn one since. For the record I'm right-handed and it was worn on my left wrist.

The people that I have encountered wearing their watches facing inwards were engaging in tasks whereby there was an increased risk of damage to the watch face.

I'm right handed, and I wear my watch on my right wrist, although I was left handed when I started school, and in those days lefties were considered to be witches so I was lucky not to be burned at the stake, in the backwards thinking school that I went to, it wasn't unusual for the teachers to drag the kids in away from the metal dragons in the sky, (aeroplanes) and teach us the science behind rainbows, like how God is forgiving and why no one has found the pot of gold

I was expecting to find righties wearing on the left and lefties on the right. How wrong I am.

Not had any nurses yet to say whether it's on the left boob or right boob, or any gents of substance to say whether it's in the right waistcoat pocket or the left.

If I was a nurse I'd be constantly looking at my watch.

Mines on right wrist (lefty) with face towards palm for work reasons it's less likely to be knocked, plus i wear a wrist band over it for the same reason

Watch? Havent seen one since I was 15.

Anyway, when I used to wear them, I would wear it on my left wrist. I'm right handed. If I put it on my right wrist it would get annoying as I did most things with my right hand. Not to mention it was hard to get on with my left hand...so, on the left wrist it went.

Its so you can write and check time at same time, or do stuff with your right hand like drink and check time.

I wear it on the underside because it is easier to check the time, or your heart rate while holding something while its on the under side.

Also checking on the underside is more discreet, as generally when its on the top I have to do a bigger arm movement to see the top. Have to lift my elbow up and all to get the right turn on my wrist, under I can check with a flick.

That dates back to etiquette. You drew your weapon with your right hand. To be a gentleman you would show your right side to another gentleman who would show you his right side.

So if someone was to the left, or showing you their left, then it was seen as them potentially having bad intentions toward you.

This is why we drive on the left, so people could pass each other on horse showing their weapon hand was free.

Its why the passenger seat in America is called "riding shotgun" as their arrangement allowed them to act "sinister" freeing up the passenger to to hide a weapon.

I am left handed and wear my watch on my right hand as otherwise the windy knob digs into the back of my hand. In my job I have to check times and write them down so needs to be on right hand so I can look and record simultaneously. I am usually holding something bulky in my right hand too so face always has to be outwards.
