My first thread rehashed

The first ever thread I posted in the forum was just prior to lunch, years ago, when I was indulging in the yummy fantasies of what sandwich to make.

There is nothing quite like the art of sandwich making.

What filling would you give me?

"Sausages "

It’s a start. But the art is in what bread, what accompaniments, condiments — the sandwich requires the full use of the descriptive tease.

Traffic land

I cooked a beautiful piece of beef yesterday to perfection, so I’d make you what I have today. Medium roast beef with rocket and horseradish on lovely seeded bread.

The restraint I have shown in not shoving it in my face any earlier is immense. 21 mins to go...

Ok, here's my favorite sandwich:

Take a soft, big, roll or some soft italian bread. Put honey mustard sauce and Provolone cheese on the bottom piece, with lettuce, tomato, red onions, and black olives. Then put on oil and vinegar. Sprinkle on salt, pepper, and a good amount of oregano. Then put some vinegar directly on the inside of the top piece of bread. Enjoy!

So you’re saying jumping straight to the offer of sausage isn’t doing it for you?

Take note of this fellas.

It’s not just about sausage!

Somewhere / Everywhere /Kinksville

James Martin did a good one. Our version was this. Take a large bread roll, take off the top and scoop out the inside. Fill with layers of pastrami, salad, cheese and pesto sauce. If you do it well when you cut it open the colours are amazing. And it tastes good too!

The beef paste is quite nice on toast

Somewhere In The Ether…

Why do sandwiches always taste better when someone else makes them?

My favourite from a deli near the shop I used to own.

One panini. Add thickly sliced chicken and Brie. Toast until warm. Add lettuce, tomato and garlic mayo.

So so good!

P x

There was a beautiful sandwich at a deli where I was at uni.

Roast chicken, sliced grapes and tarragon mayonnaise.
